He would do well to swerve that if it was offered. Other good jobs will come, and he's not in a bad one now.

Going there is like plunging your career into a vat of boiling acid and seeing how it might work out.

I think Steve Bruce is in bother if Blackpool lose at home to Luton tonight…

Can't help but think we were his chance and he knows it. I think he realised he could have been a hit here and jumped to the next "similar" job that came up in England. But saying that Southamptons owners are "strange", borderline clueless. I think it was always going to be tough going there right now and that rep of being one of the bright young coaches in European football won't last long if he keeps struggling. A retreat to somewhere else to try and rebuild his reputation?

Maybe he didn't fancy the full remit of bringing on young players at the same time as running the team.

It's a tough ask. Amazing we found Regis, even if I'd never heard of him back then!

Southampton will be fine and up there competing for a play off spot. Very good squad for that level

I for one never heard of him or Still bit after hearing so much of Still being the up and coming young manager etc...

RLB was underwhelming in comparison, there was just no noise about him. Its now quite clear we couldn't have got a better head coach for how these club wants to do things, happy to use and develop young players, seems to be excellent at the psychology of dealing with and motivating said players, it is quite obvious how quick the team have gelled and started playing like they been together for years despite the summer recruitment that he and his coaching staff are excellent at putting their point across, speaking of coaching staff how many head coaches don't bring several others with them as part of their team? That shows a lack of ego and confidence that he can work with and co-exist with anyone as he didn't his yes men and trusting the club to do what is right for the team!

I'm sure we all could waffle on all day about the good things with him that fits this club! He might not fit so easily elsewhere but he does here and I think that will help us in the future, if he continues to improve and other clubs try fo nick him he seems intelligent enough to at least consider will the next club be the same fit for him!

Oh and I'll openly admit I thought the wheels had come off end of last season, I was worried no way can a team turn around that around a run of form out of nowhere. Regis showed me what I know, **** all! He kept them rested to go 'till the end' which paid off but I reckon Coventry and Sheff Utd looked at our form and thought they had it won! He played them for right mugs! Aye I was a mug aswell!

People worrying that the wheels had come off is one thing and understandable.

The behaviour of some supporters was embarrassing ...

... stating that the knew better than the manager, and why, was ridiculous.

Reg just oozes calmness and control.
You don't see him ranting and raving on the touchline, he has great self control, it's not for him to wave his arms or run up and down.
He seems able to pass this calmness onto his players, the club getting GZ to sign also brings that air of calmness onto the pitch.
Reg is articulate during his pressers and before/after match interviews, I used to enjoy TMs press interviews but Reg is up a few levels on that and considering he's not speaking in his native tongue he comes across as an intelligent and knowledgeable football manager.
We're lucky to have him at this important time in the club's rebirth.

I'm sure Speakman will already be scouting his replacement in case 'Arsenal' are watching ...

... and I hope Speakman is monitoring his own replacement for the same reason.

We can only hope the club can match the ambition of them both, so far so good.
