Do both mate. There's plenty to go around. But yeah, SR are a ****ing curse on this club. I ****ing hate them
Honestly, sometimes you need to look beyond the manager. We've been here too often now over the last few years, and the one common denominator are those twats running the club. Their judgement in their hires has (so far) been piss poor.
So 10 points from 8 games. Exactly the same as Russ. But this time it just feels different. These last three games I think we’ve looked really good. If we keep improving, and if key players stay fit, we’re gonna have a fun season. Will Still IN.
For me it's Will Still still in. Will Will Still, still be in after Derby. The jury is still out for many, will they come round? We will have to see!
Liverpool and Boro were good. Last night wasn't great for a large chunk of the game but we had a really good spell at the start of the 2nd half where we cashed in with 2 goals. Came through a tricky game but plenty of room for improvement which will come in time. One more game before the international break, win it and we'll go into it with some momentum and everyone can relax somewhat.
I disagree. I thought - Quarshie’s brainfart aside - that first half we were very good. Contained Utd and looked more of a threat than them. Our passing was crisp. Excellent pressing. We looked like the home team.
Too much dicking around in our own half, particularly first half. Once we actually got the ball forwards we looked threatening. Like the start of the second half when we scored two goals. I know there needs to be a certain amound of moving the ball around at the back but I thought we invited them onto us in the first half. I just struggle to see how we were very good in the first half - we weren't terrible by any means but too slow in moving the ball and getting it forwards.
I just think you’re being affected too much by our previous games. If last night had come after a few more positive results we would be saying it was another dominant performance. My main issue is that we left Stewart on fifteen minutes too long. When he gets tired, the opposition get back into the game. Happened against Boro and again last night.
We have played 5 games since the transfer window closed and are getting progressively better imo. We need to stop conceding preventable goals but there are players that look very promising. Wood, Edwards, Fellows, Charles, Jander and Stewart in particular. I don't feel that we will miss Tyler and Matty and I think that the team will click fully into gear over the next 6 matches. Score the pen and one of the headers of Ross go in and it would've been a comprehensive win last night.
Was listening to going home with Adam and Jo last night after the game. Starting to think that Blackmore isn’t a fan of WS. I’ve never heard so much negative crap come from his mouth, in comparison to what they used to say about some previous managers. Yes, we weren’t brilliant last night, but we were playing at a club with probably one of the top 5/6 squads, being revitalised with the return of their manager, under the lights. He was slating that to many youngsters are starting, the subs he made, and that we should have controlled the game after going 2-1 up, and if he mentioned Flynn Downes being in the team once, he said it 10 times. Yes Adam, let’s drop Wood, Quarshie, Jander and bring back Stephens, THB and Downes as that has worked out stupendously over the past 40 games or so. Yes the subs were a bit of a gamble, but ultimately they worked out as we scored 2 quick goals and held on to win the game. And Flynn Downes over Charles or Jander? Not for me at the moment. Yes he may start at Derby on Saturday, so let’s see what he’s like when given a start. And for the end of the game, of course we were going to be under pressure, we were playing a decent team away from home who were pushing for an equaliser at home against a team trying to grow, a completely battered confidence. In my opinion what we showed was balls and commitment to hold on for the win. Yes, it’s not beautiful dominating football at the moment, but for a guy that has been close to the club and witnessed closely the constant defeats and players demeanour, give them a little credit. End of rant.
