It was becoming a bit of an obsession: Before Ipswich: After Pompey: Hull: Liverpool: I love the man.
Are you going to rename yourself Ross gangly like legs? I will admit he looked much more confident after scoring, long may it continue.
Yeah i'll always remember him embarrassedly accepting cheers at the play-off final, he has finally arrived.
He has played 170 minutes in the last 2 games, which is probably as much as the last 2 seasons. Perhaps all he needed was to get fully fit. That second goal was perfection, and the first was a great finish too. Let’s hope he has turned the corner and will start banging them in now.
Yeah he should have come off at 60 mins against Boro though, and should have come off at 70 tonight. His legs were totally gone. Saying that, Archer doesn't exactly bust a gut even when he is fresh. I dearly hope Ross stays fit. I've probably jinxed him now.
So as mentioned in the match day thread, I had looked into our 3 strikers(not included Downs) time at Saints, specifically their actual minutes played and their goals scored. This data is taken from Transfermarkt and includes all league, FA cup and EFL cup matches. Minutes played only count the 90 regulation minutes and do not include any additional time. Prior to tonight it looked as follows: 1st Place: Adam Armstrong 9649 mins/34 goals. Has played equivalent of 107.211 matches = a goal every 3.153 matches. 2nd place: Cameron Archer 2131 mins/7 goals. Has played equivalent of 23.677 matches = a goal every 3.382 matches. 3rd place: Ross Stewart 765 mins/1 goals. Has played equivalent of 7.388 matches = a goal every 7.388 matches. Now it looks like this: 1st place: Ross Stewart 750 mins/3 goals. Has played equivalent of 8.333 matches = a goal every 2.777 matches. 2nd place: Adam Armstrong 9724mins/34 goals. Has played equivalent of 108.044 matches = a goal every 3.177 matches. 3rd place: Cameron Archer 2136 mins/7 goals. Has played equivalent of 23.733 matches = a goal every 3.390 matches. I was going to post something yesterday regarding this and I was going to say because Stewart has played so little minutes, when he does score goals his goals per match will have a greater increase than the other 2, especially Armstrong who is close to 10000 minutes for us. Stewart has now jumped to our most prolific striker in a mere 85 minutes spell, glorious!! So happy for him, long may it continue!!
Very pleases for the guy. Now getting his first real chance as being fully fit and showing us what he can do. Was impressed with him on Saturday, winning lots in the air and holding the ball well. Tonight he got the goals. Enjoying him ramming a few people's misguided words back down their throats
