Why are we **** in injury time?

We seem to **** the bed all the time, even last week against Bournemouth we nearly bottled it.

It's always the opposition scoring at the end rather than ourselves, it's been a thing for a while.

    Weak mentally.

There’s weakness everywhere at Newcastle. Small club mentality. Plucky underdogs. After spending £600m in three years.

Poor changes and bad coaching is the answer surely?

Because we are poor at ball retention and so are knackered after 90 mins. We have had a difficult start but can recover but Howe needs to learn how to make subs that improve the situation. His subs always seem to make things worse.

It’s the subs and the mentality. We can’t defend leads very well. He goes all super defensive and as such it invites pressure.

This isn't anything new... It's been Howes Achilles heel since he came to the club.. It's OK saying that because he's been great overall, but it's going to keep happening, and it's going to be more of an issue because he now has more options before and during matches.

I think we might be seeing the beginning of the end of his reign... We've spend huge amounts, he's had full control, and they've essentially backed him to the hilt.

He's got plenty credit and rightly so, but I don't think everything is rosy anymore in the background... Gone next season maybe if this continues ?

He can still learn. He is either stubborn or badly advised. In every game we seem to get worse by a mile when he makes the changes.

There isn’t one game where I think we have played well this season. Maybe Liverpool. Villa possible but couldn’t hit a barn door.

The writing was on the wall against Villa when we battered them but couldn’t score.

Absolutely, but it's something I questioned for the last two years and it's whether or not Howe can manage a squad.

Currently it's not going well, so people are pointing it out, but there's no better option than to keep Howe as long as he'll stay.

Newcastle can't spend money to get out of this now anyway and we'll probably only end up like West ham who definitely shouldn't have chased out Moyes.

We let in a goal 6 minutes into injury time yesterday, the last time was a month ago and was 10 minutes into injury time vs Liverpool after nearly winning the game in injury time ourselves. The last time we let a goal in during injury time before that was January.

We're generally good at closing games out in injury time when we're ahead, this thread is completely factually incorrect.

Only if you ignore every time it's happened and look at when it hasn’t. The injury time part is irrelevant.

It's happened 2 games in 6... That's kinds big percentage... Not a sign of a side being good at closing out games mate.

Too many people with pre-prepared agendas trying to twist the truth to fit their comical narrative. But why let facts get in the way. The fact it’s injury time or time added on etc is totally irrelevant in itself, it’s still part of ‘match’ time.

Also, to try and suggest only Howe goes defensive is a fallacy as it’s a common tactic. Not saying I agree with the tactic but it is common and every team do it. Ask Pep v Arsenal just recently and guess what happened there as well.

It’s getting boring listening to the same continuously repeated and repeated and repeated distorted truths. It really is. If I remember last season some were convinced EH should be sacked. Fortunately, the Club had different views and look what happened. Wonder whether calls for EH’s head now should be listened to?

I’ve had a quick look through and cannot find a single post asking for him to be sacked and because of last season he absolutely shouldn’t be.

What I can find, which is repetitive and therefore could be seen as boring, is question marks over the managers in game management and use of subs. This links to questions over the recruitment and the quality of the squad.

In all likelihood Howe will turn it around, but I personally think it feels a little different this season. The regression of certain players needs to be halted immediately. Hopefully when we get some players back it’ll improve but the Tino injury is incredibly bad timing as Hall is who knows where and Trippier has looked woeful.

Howe battered for not rotating two years ago and battered for sticking to one formation, battered for rotating, battered for changes in formation.
Comparisons to West Ham and Moyes very relevant yet plenty here still trying to chase Howe out.

Constantly giving scathing criticism of almost everything a manager does and saying he has to change but not calling for him to go? Several here constantly covering their arse by saying everything bad about him and he needs to change or ……. But yes not actually having the balls to actually call for him to go.

Steve Bruce was chased out. I've not seen anyone saying sack Howe. I've not seen anyone saying he shouldn't rotate either, only people highlighting the fact his in game management and changes are never very good if ever at all.

I'm not we'll end up getting relegated after we appoint Southgate or Scott Parker.

Who decides when it's OK or not OK though? I know for a fact that the majority complained about previous managers even after wins.

Yeah because the wins under SB were down to others and not him.

I decide when it's ok. Ok. And at the moment it's not ok. Ok.
