Don’t know if you can embed instagram links But @Sucky needs to check this out. Salah’s handball that VAR dismissed against palace https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPHQyNNDNN9/?igsh=MTExNTg4bXZ5OXFoeA==
Im just enjoying Spurs not losing every week. Won’t rip any trees up but it feels normal again with Thomas Frank.
Getting a bit tedious all this now, all you hear is people trying to drive a manager out of his job. They did it with Ole and ten Hag, and now it Amorim. And Talk Sport are already on about Maresca and big Ange, and Potter was on the list before West Ham bowed to it and fired him. With ten Hag it was United have no plan, no philosophy. So they drove him out and United employed a manager with a philosophy and a clear plan. A long term plan at that. But he's not implemented it quick enough, so everyone wants him out as well and let's go back to the Ole days, we've got to go back to 4 2 3 1, which was the McFred formation everyone lambasted and drove Ole out for and was not successful. It ****ing maddening. Do they really think someone else will sort it when it was acknowledged thst this is not a quick fix and would take a few season? If so, who is that person? Yes, Amorim should show some flexibility. Definitely. But you've got people in and on the media telling him how he should play when the club employed him to specifically play his way, and haven't yet given him enough windows to fully implement. While being criticised for not getting a tune out of players that previous five ****ing managers also could not get a tune out of. (Shaw and Dalot) And for failing to get his magic wand out and make players out of Ugarte, and Bayindir, and Onana and deal with all the other useless ****s that previous managers signed like Antony and Sancho. I doubt it was Amorim himself who decided we needed to buy Sesko when we already had Hojlund and it was patently obvious that what we actually needed was someone in CM. He's been thrown under a bus there, we bought Cunha and Mbuemo so it was Zirkzee who should have been sold, as he's not now getting a sniff of a game. And they could have kept Hojlund if they are only replacing him almost literally like for like with Sesko, and spent that money on Baleba, or Wharton. Or Anderson, if our scouts had anything about them. The club ****ed all this up, not Amorim.
Don’t listen to much live Talksport these days. Some good podcasts. Anyway stuck it on just now and there’s a bloke insisting Amorim is good enough while Goldstein insists he isn’t. Glasner is the answer apparently. Once heard Stan Collymore say four different Prem clubs were going down in one show. This will always be funny…
Out of interest, was it Goldstein who says Glasner? Because Glasner favours the very same formation that apparently 'does not work'. So, Goldstein must understand that this systems still needs a couple more specific signings for it to work, you'd think, him being this (self entititled) mega United fan. Signings that Amorim hasn't yet made, or been given. I wouldn't dispute that right now we should be playing 4 3 3 , so the likes of Dalot, Ugarte and Shaw are nowhere near it. Needs Iraola for that though I'd say. He falls into the never managed a big club cliché box, though. It's annoying that Amorim could pick a decent team playing 4 3 3 that doesn't have the stink of managers past all over it, but he won't do it. He keeps going back to players who have failed various previous managers, and I don't get that. At the end of this latest saga, we'll probably end up with Southgate and his double pivot bollocks and he will also be sacked into his second season. This time, driven out by the support who definitely don't want him. And then the next stooge is lined up.......
Off to Bramall Lane tomorrow. Absolute ****ing mission for a Tuesday night. Had better be worth it or I might sack Derby off on Saturday.
Yeah Goldstein. Reckon Iraola is being eyed up for something better if not bigger. Replace Simeone when he’s done or next Bilbao manager as he’s a Bilbao guy or when Bayern bin Kompany.
Went to a glorious midweek 1-0 win there when we looked like promotion contenders. Our best player’s hamstring blew up after he scored and we collapsed spectacularly soon after. Great ground.
