So go watch someone else on the telly then you boring ****. It’s not like your local and bred into it like it’s a religion.
The subs are not the issue for me. It’s the tactics. He went into panic mode that last 15 minutes. We don’t seem to end games well.
Some managers are good at reading the game and making little tweaks.. I don't think Howes good at that area of the job. It's either that he can't read the game or he believes in his plan even when it's not working and keeps ploughing ahead with it. There's plenty he's absolutely brilliant at upto including how he conducts himself, but you'd have to be blind to not notice what people have been saying about in game changes at this point.. It's been going on for years.
There's also a psychological issue to deal with because they've painful late defeats will be difficult for the players to overcome.. It'll probably keep happening because they'll start thinking about it and making bad decisions as the pressure moments arrive. Pope despite his great saves cost us vs Liverpool and Arsenal doing exactly the same thing....he gets a bit nutty. It's not all Howe at this point... It's the entire lot of them with problems to overcome.
When he kicks it straight to the other side it's him... Great shot stopper and kept us in the game, but we needed to keep the ball second half and no changes were made that helped. That's all people at getting at I guess and I think the players now have some scars.
This time 4 years ago we were bottom of the league with Ashley. As things go, I think we're in a rather good position now. And Arsenal are good btw, and they hardly outplayed us.
It’s you’re and I have been a Newcastle fan long before and will be long after this forum! Just because I left the region at 13 doesn’t mean I should give up. My son’s only been twice but still a fan. Nowt I can do about being a boring ****, mind.
October fixtures are a bit kinder so could turn things around... Fingers crossed its been a bit **** so far hasn't it?
Disappointing end to the game yesterday, proper gutting! And while I agree the subs weren’t great (Miley for Tino, Willock for Joelinton imo - stuck with the midfield 5) we are just shy of par for the course so far this season - probably 2 less points than I’d have expected before a ball was kicked 0-0 Villa - disappointing result against 10 men but probably what I’d have hoped for away from home 2-3 Liverpool - no one expected a point especially down to 10 men 0-0 Leeds - the game I think we expected to win but didn’t - second home game for Leeds back in the big time was always going to be difficult but points dropped 1-0 Wolves - right result and deserved 3 points 2-1 Barcelona - decent performance and could have had more 0-0 Bournemouth - never get anything there so a decent clean sheet 4-1 Bradford - as expected 1-2 Arsenal - too raw to have any sensible thoughts on yet but arsenal Would have been the bookies favourite. Maybe you look at Villa and think should have won that one but we had no strikers - and in the main we are almost exactly where I expect us to be so far bar the Leeds game. We have 6 new players and potentially 4/5 starters in Thiaw, Ramsey, Elanga, Wissa, Woltermade all trying to get used to it here. If we’d had Wissa/Woltemade in those first few games we’d have a few more points on the board already Im sure.
they passed the ball around a lot and kept possession, a bit like what Barcelona did and won by the odd goal like Barcelona did we are not going to play Barcelona, Arsenal Liverpool every week I only wish Voltamade wore a short sleeve shirt or get a shirt were the arms fall off when pulled his baggy shirt doesn't show how much he is being pulled back like again at Bournemouth it seems like refs have a different thresholds on pulling shirts
We were better than Liverpool, even when we had 10 men, that was just bad luck. Arsenal were better than us overall, but we frustrated them well for most of the match and we're leading with 5 minutes to go and only lost at the death. Barcelona were clearly higher quality than us, but again we frustrated them for long periods, and it took something special from Rashford to really shut us down. It's going under the radar, but our defence is actually really good this season so far. We just need to dominate more.
Just watched the extended highlights of the game It was a clear handball by the Arsenal player in the box from the shot by Elanga the ref should have seen this and awarded a penalty as his view was unimpeded by others he then should have let VAR have a look at it, and as there is NO clear evidence that the ball has ricocheted off the Arsenal players leg then the penalty should have stood by not doing his job correctly and playing by the Laws of the Game he has allowed VAR to re-ref the game This is down to the incompetence of the Referee He was quick to point to the spot on an assumption that there was a foul by Pope as there was no way he could have seen the incident from his angle VAR then did it's job and showed the ref the angle he didn't have _____________________________________________________________________ 'Ball deemed to have deflected off Gabriel’s shin'published at 18:28 BST 28 September 18:28 BST 28 September Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal please log in to view this image Premier League Premier League Match Centre on X: "The referee’s call of no penalty was checked and confirmed by VAR – with the ball deemed to have deflected off Gabriel’s shin and onto his arm. _____________________________________________________________________________ what the **** was the Ref watching ????
