I think we might have a tough season throughout, looking at how the fixtures have fallen. We have no 'easier' runs of games at any point, so it'll be hard to build any spells of momentum. I think we'll struggle even more if Livramento is out for a longer period.
15th after six games and we’ve won once all season. In any circumstance that’s ****ing abysmal. We are playing the likes of Murphy, Lascelles, Trippier, Barnes, Osula after spending £500m. Regardless of where we started the mismanagement of the playing staff and the over-reliance on Howe is killing us. Loyalty first is always going to reach a glass ceiling, Liverpool dont dominate because they keep Jordan Henderson, it’s because they evolve and improve at every single opportunity. We are small minded, plucky underdogs and going to start creeping backwards. Howes done great things but he has got to turn this around and fast.
We should be comfortably beating Leeds, and not throwing away matches against Liverpool and Arsenal. There is a weakness in Howe that is becoming evident, in game he’s absolutely atrocious and his weird squad management and formation switches - 541 is a tactic for Burnley, not a CL club - is killing us. Hes got a lot of credit in the bank but he has to start improving things and ****ing fast.
Given what we learned 2 years ago it's just poor from Howe. We're is big trouble this season and probably in for a difficult January and summer.... I wouldn't give any more money to Howe.. It's beginning to look like he's got the balance completely wrong now. Needs to get wins
I am just so over the moon that we are stuck in the CL, which apparently every single Newcastle fan just cannot get enough of. No really, it's great. Certainly not just another L on the calendar.
Just found this from just after 6pm, about 10 mins later GG wanted Howe sacked. The match threads are manic these days.
Not being able to keep possession is a glaring problem, we've got Tonali and Bruno in there but we rarely even try to look for them when the defenders have it, most of the time we pass it around the back, invite pressure and Burn just ends up having to boot it up the wing straight back to the other team. If you can't keep the ball you can't control a game.
Fully agree with this. Burn back at LB was horrible to watch. And it turns out Hall wasn't injured, just being 'looked after', having played a couple of games recently.
Howes starting to look and sound more and more miserable. The Players don't look happy either. It's still early days, but I don't think the signs are particularly good this season..
I would like it noted how I hated the subs at the time and hated them when they cost us the game. If anyone should want the manager sacked its me
It was a clear Newcastle needed to keep the ball, so the out the box option was subbing pope for Ramsdale because he was repeatedly giving away possession and getting Miley on for Burn or literally any other player on the pitch. I'm not saying it would work or acting like I know better, but I can't actually understand what the thought process was behind today's changes?
We've got a big month in October., it's possible they can turn it around, but if Howe keeps ****ing around its going to keep getting worse. Like Roland says we've got players Brighton didn't want in their 1st 11 years ago and players that weren't good enough for Mike Ashley's Newcastle still being used.... We've spent 600 million pounds it's nuts
just seen the replay for their second goal where Saliba blocks off Pope stopping him getting to the ball saying that someone should have been on Saliba and stopping him blocking off Pope
