Labour say they are going to build three new towns before the next election.

Apparently, one of these new towns will be up the road from me in Crews Hill. I'm wondering where a new town could go in that area, as it is mostly protected woodland, nurseries and a golf course.

I'm not sure north London needs a new town, particularly in an area of natural beauty.

I'll write to the relevant minister and get back to you.

 

Another proposed site is in my birthplace, Thamesmead. The new settlement would be on the riverside, which is more viable because there is a fair amount of wasteland out there.
