Disappointing I don’t see it as rescuing a point when they had to go for the jugular and ramp it up they get a goal sums up the attitude poor
It’s frustrating when a win would have put us 2 points off the top, but before the season started I would have taken where we are now. It’s not going to be some magic quick fix
Erm...isn't it? Look, don't get me wrong, 1 point is better than 0. However, you were playing against the team rooted bottom of the table, who were coming into this fixture without a solitary point on the board. Surely, given your strong start to the season under Thomas Frank (a manager I hold in very high regard), you'd have expected to win this? A draw is pretty disappointing considering the opposition IMO. Happy to be challenged on this if others have a different view, though.
Yeah but play crap and not lose is something to be happy with. As I said a few posts ago, this squad is still lacking key components so there is gonna be just as many bad performances as good ones.
Sorry about the language, I’m better than that but season after season, missed opportunity after missed opportunity takes it’s tole
Frank needs to start working on the attacking play a bit more in training. To be fair he’s said as much - that given how leaky we were previously he wanted to shore up the defence first. We don’t give much away and even if they deserved the goal, it still took a fortunate bounce of Palhinha to fall nicely for it to happen. So the first part of the plan has clearly worked. Whether it’s training ground work, or figuring out the right combinations of players though, we look out of ideas too often when attacking, and that needs working on. We obviously badly miss the more known quantity of James Maddison (compared to Xavi, who is clearly still settling) and Kulu’s return can’t come soon enough as he’ll play similarly to Kudus when the new man is blowing a bit. Kulu has much more of an engine on him. More options at striker will also help us, I’m looking forward to seeing RKM eventually and we know how effective Solanke can be pressing and creating opportunities. Feel like our recent record against Wolves has not been good so a late equaliser does go some way towards making me feel a bit better about it. They always seem to have the most random set of players these days, always a team where I know we’ll lose and I’ll spend time hatefully googling some random I’d never heard of.
I'd understand this view if it was against a better calibre of opposition, but rescuing a draw at home against the league's bottom side? I don't know man. For me, it's not a particularly good result even if your performance wasn't the best. In the grand scheme of things, and considering the expectations pre-game, surely, this has to be 2 points dropped?
Depends on expectations I guess. Spurs will probably finish mid table this season so I expect a lot of games where it’s not a good performance. Still a lot of young players who are very inconsistent so it’s unlikely the team is gonna go on a long run at any point. If you look at data then Spurs are probably higher in the league than they should be.
Spurs need to concentrate on beating Citeh by at least 2-0. Anything less than that, I consider an utter embarrassment for a club.
My God that was an awful 2nd half performance . Probably edged it first half should’ve gone in 1-0 but Wolves bossed us second half. Awful passes, losing the majority of the 50/50’s set piece delivery poor and Kudus and Xavi shocking. Even Porro couldn’t cross a decent ball when he came on. Odebert, Sarr and Tel poor too. Fair play to Wolves and there half time subs moving to a back three prevented us getting in behind them like we did in the 1st half. They will be gutted to have not won. Palinha is just superb what a player he is , January we need to make his move permanent. Don’t think the manager can be blamed for that second half the players let him down. We sit in 3rd place so it’s a still a good start to the season but we need to improve our home performances.
