To use a well worn football cliche, I would have taken a point before the game but disappointed to have dropped 2 late on. However, I am well pleased with our progress to date. We are competing and picking up points so keep on going at this rate.
Are you lot still happy with sitting in our own box "shutting up shop" when we go in front? That's exactly what I was talking about this week. We won last week so everything was hunky dory but we've lost 3 points now by sitting too deep. 1 at Fulham and 2 today. We can't keep doing it. We aren't good at it. Play to your strengths. Anyway....hate to say I told you so but I did tell you all that it will cost us points. Second game this season already.
Nearly all good. Spent the day with a new supporters group in mullingar. That’s two I’m in now. Nice Bunch of lads. Disappointing not to win but important thing for me is we’re still been as good as every team played except Arsenal so no complaints
Yes it cost us points today, but you also mention that it worked at Wolves, so it also won us points. That’s the rub of the green.
Didn't say it worked at Wolves last week. Our goal led a charmed life at Wolves last week. I stated that I didn't like it then. Said it would cost us like it did at Fulham. I wasn't comfortable with it last week. We aren't good at it. I don't let the result change my view on how we play.
I think the point may be Wolves have started the worst of any team in the Prem, better sides will get something off you if you do nothing but stonewall.
B’stards are always against us but I’m afraid I love them to lose too much to share your good wishes towards them
But it did work, we won. My view is, you’re damned if you do, you’re damned if you don’t. Had we kept attacking and get caught on the break, I’m willing to bet some fans would be asking why we didn’t shut up shot and see it out. That’s football.
We done good. Bournemouth grabbed the last minute equaliser and its tainted it. Keep it up and we aint even in a relegation battle Maybe we are big time and maybe we are back
We won 3-1 because we scored 3 goals. We didn't score 3 goals by sitting deep in the edge of our own box. We also didn't give up too many opportunities in that first half. When we sat deep after half time, we conceded alot of chances. Wolves were unlucky not to score at least once in that 2nd half. The main point i try to get across is that there is a way to defend a lead yet still keep the opposition honest by still offering a threat. We don't do that. We drop everyone back and invite balls in to our own area and we are not very good at defending them. Look at today, look at Arsenal, look at the 20 minutes at Fulham. Look at the chances we gave to Wolves. Darlow made two good saves to keep the 3-1 lead. I'm just saying we don't look confident defending deep. It's something we aren't used to doing. I don't like it and we'll continue to lose late goals if we carry on.
Evening all, As usual site was unavailable for me 15 mins before kick off and only came back an hour ago so I could not join in the matchday thread. To concede in injury time is always a sickener but they were 3 rd and we scored 2 goals from open play. Sitting mid table after 6 is a very solid start. Glass half full for me. MOT.
I was at ER today and we conceded a goal in added time. I then made the trek across to Headingley to watch Rhinos vs Saints in a play off game and watched Saints end Leeds season with a try scored after the hooter. Good day all round eh!
