Oh we’re all in the same boat on that last point. From the happiest of clappers to the grumpiest of boo-ers we’d all prefer to see them winning. It’s how we all choose to react when they don’t that differs us. We can be fed up because we know we like seeing them winning. We can be fed up because we get our hopes up for that celebratory moment at the full time whistle and then the disappointment at missing it again. Every weekend across the country supporters travel to games in the hope of that feeling. Fewer than half the teams they follow will win. Over half will go home frustrated and disappointed but come back the next week to do it all again. No one makes you or them do it, we all choose it knowing full well what may well be the outcome. But we go hoping it will be the week that it all goes well and we celebrate. We’ve not had that celebration feeling much in the last year. It will come and it’s natural to want it sooner. But to expect it every time, you’re setting yourself up to be frustrated every week. And until we as a team show we are in a position where it’s reasonable to expect to win (eg RM season about 5-6 games into winning run ) we wait and we support and encourage and hope. But tbh it’s coming across a bit entitled that we haven’t won all the games so far
Easily our best performance of the season. Can't afford to be totally dominant in the first half yet walk in at HT without scoring. Boro were always likely to improve. Edwards was immense. The entire defence was solid. Armstrong continues to be our best goalscorer. Crazy that some people on here wanted us to sell him this summer! Fellows was excellent, especially given that I doubt he's played RWB much before. I've constantly said that for three CBs to work, it requires WBs who can be a serious attacking threat. Fellows was and three at the back worked. Fraser for Fellows was a horrid sub. Apparently handball is acceptable now. We pressed Boro into so many errors in the first half. We really should have scored at least once.
Tom, you really should perhaps wait 24 hours after a game before posting. You’re being hysterical, in both senses.
Am I wrong? 46 points will likely get you relegated. Clearly, we won't end up on that but we are currently producing relegation form.
Definitely our best performance of the season. Also the first time I've come away from a league game without thinking that we could have easily lost (or did lose in case of Stoke and Hull). Boro definitely the real deal and will challenge up there throughout the season imo. Draw a fair result for me with us being better first half and them second. Fellows looks a great buy and Armstrong showing why he should be one of the first names on the team sheet at this level. Thought Stewart battled well too. Edwards the pick of the centre backs for me but thought Quarshie looked a lot more comfortable too. Don't think any of the subs improved us and none really impacted the game unfortunately.
Hey Tom, sorry me again....have you ever thought about slipping Not606 until the morning?? Some of the things you type are laughable really and maybe you will see things differently after a good night's sleep. Mate we have just had 2 solid performances back to back. Armstrong has scored in successive league games. Defence much better in the last 2 games. Still is learning the players, the players are learning the new tactics. Players are getting to know their new team mates, it all takes time, what makes you so entitled that we should be doing better with our budget and players etc? You said we would be bottom 3 if not for the late Wrexham win....but isn't that football, a late couple of goals and we win, same as a late surge into the playoffs. So what you are saying is that by being behind until the last few minutes is really bad but if we had scored 2 earlier goals and then let one in, same result but this is somehow better? A goal is a goal is a goal, doesn't matter when you score it....does it? Oh yeah and last week your classic line of a draw is as bad as a loss, I guess that logic is why you seem so annoyed by today's result.
It's about performances at this early stage of team development and the Liverpool game and today is a big leap forward from the Skates and Hull games.
Though that was a good performance. The cb's were great. Adam Armstrong was good.fellows was good. Yeah we only got a point but boro are top of the table because they are unbeaten this season. Plenty of positives to take from today . I'm also seeing and identity and style of play emerging. Also the ref was ****ing awful
Go do something to cheer yourself up and take your mind off it. Like go take a look how your FPL captain got on today. Just try not to notice how many others Triple Captained him….
Agree with everything. I'll exclude Robinson and Jelert because they barely had any time to make an impact (late subs is becoming a frustrating theme of Still's). But Scienza wasn't an upgrade on Azaz, and as I've said, Fraser for Fellows was horrid. Hopefully Stewart's body is able to start three times in a eight days.
