Really sad news to hear about Ken Houghton, he was part of my introduction to City in the wonderful team of 70/71, feels like my youth is disappearing before my eyes. RIP Ken, the memories you brought to a young City fan will last forever.
That goal against West Ham was an early memory of watching City for me . I was behind the goal in the North Stand and just big enough to see over the pitch side fence . Ken was a lovely man and true gentleman. I didn't see alot of him in a City shirt but can see he made a big impression on many supporters more senoir than me . Condolences to his family .
Can only echo the thoughts of those who remember Ken Houghton. My old man rated him highly and used to point out his pinpoint passes from midfield to players like Waggy ect. Vaguely remember that game against Leicester ( above ) as a young kid when Ken hit a volley that almost broke the net, but sadly yesterdays hero’s are now fast becoming history and Ken Houghton’s name should be right up there with the best included being part of that famous exciting side that often filled Fer ark with its attacking football. R.I.P Ken. UTT.

Rumours i had anything to do with the demise of Ken Ellerkers and missing inner tubes for a 26" Raleigh racing bike wheel, are just those - rumours.
Met Ken a couple of times and also worked in his house a few years ago. He once came to scout my team and I was scoring for fun . That day I was ****. Ken and Fred Ramsden left early. RIP Sir.
