Can't see us winning this from here. Need Surrey to pull of a bit of a comeback to give us a bit of a chance..

But I think it's Div 2 next year! I'll still be going...

Just watched SSN about the Ashes and am absolutely buzzing that I'll be at the 5th test!

Would be great if England were still in the series going into the 5th test!

We can but hope! Given their current batting frailty and their aging pace attack, including Cummins injury, we must have half a chance, for the first time in a long time.
Imo, our ability to take them to the wire will be largely down to the fitness of Stokes,Archer and Wood, and whether Crawley and Pope can get their heads into the right place.

Hot finish at Hampshire for anyone interested. They have collapsed to 148/9. Need another. 33.

If they lose and we draw, we scramble to safety.
    Bugger. Off for bad light!

Envy is a very bad thing.

Really, a very bad thing. But I am filled to the top with it about that!

Enjoy mate, I hope we are still in it. The last time we won down there I had a bet on us to win 3-0. Bassas managed to lose one! I'm having a bet this year too. Based on Root getting some big runs, (now or never Joe), others batting around him, and our bowlers staying fit and finding the right length. So it's 3-1 this time to England. (Which would bring a knighthood for big Ben!)

We are not starting at the Gabba this time. It's a long time now, maybe forty years since that was the case, someone will know. But if we get a result in Perth, which is their next best favourite ground, we are on.

Its a bucket list kinda thing. My dad went to a one dayer international down there years ago and I've wanted to go to a batch since then - haven't even been to a cricket match over here! I've got family over there and they got us tickets for the first 2 days. Like you said hopefully we're still in it too make it all worthwhile - fingers crossed!

What’s the reason for not starting at the Gabba?

Not sure. Might be something to do with the new WACA, but that's a guess. The Gabba will be second I think, and a day might match. Bring back Jimmy for that!

Gabba is being demolished/refurbed in prep for the 2032 Olympics so they are planning ahead and moving it now I think.

Looks like Durham and Yorkshire survive.
    Hampshire somehow managed to lose.

Total rubbish from Durham here, a collapse that'll see them all out well before tea and relegated. Can only come from bad leadership, in my opinion.
