“Swansea will always be a club I will look at fondly, and I am looking forward to seeing how the club moves on next season I hope as predicted Brighton go down and we go up..... That will be poetry in motion.....
You are deluded if you think we will go up next season, be lucky to stay in the Championship............
West Ham United can confirm that Head Coach Graham Potter has left the Club. Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations, and the Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary in order to help improve the team’s position in the Premier League as soon as possible. The Club can confirm that Assistant Coach Bruno Saltor, First Team Coaches Billy Reid and Narcis Pelach, Lead Goalkeeper Coach Casper Ankergren, and Goalkeeper Coach Linus Kandolin have also left with immediate effect. The Board would like to thank Graham and his coaching staff for their hard work during their time with the Hammers and wish them every success for the future. The process of appointing a replacement is underway. The Club will be making no further comment at this time.
I agree - or even stayed with us. In my opinion, I don’t think that he has the personality and/or character to manage ‘big’ clubs. He was successful in Sweden by nurturing players in a small club environment.
If he gets " another big pay day ", how does that make him " a failure "? Isn't that everyone's goal - " big pay days " ? Why should he have stayed at Brighton ? The word is ambition, have you never had any ?
Nuno Espirito Santo is set to become new West Ham head coach following the sacking of Graham Potter. The Portuguese coach and the Hammers are in advanced talks with the former Nottingham Forest boss expected to be in place ahead of Monday’s clash versus Everton. Discussions have accelerated over the previous 72 hours and Nuno has agreed to become West Ham’s new boss.
At that level, and with his remuneration packages previously, plus his mega-payoff from Chelsea, I’m not convinced that it was all about another big pay off. Arguably, he has enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his - and his children’s - life (lives). For him it is about personal ambition and proving himself. Since Potter's first game in charge (14 January), West Ham have won fewer points than any other ever-present Premier League side (23). He won six and lost 14 of his 25 games in charge all competitions. So based against his ambition, surely even you would agree that his record equates to failure
