Agreed, but it suits those (currently) out of power too. And benefits them far more.

Which makes you wonder why the Party/Limited Company with 5 MP's, living off this topic, gets wall to wall coverage on mainstream media...

You'd almost think there was some coordination afoot...<whistle>

The horror is that so many don't. Through the power of the internet we are being faced with the true depravity of certain sections of the human race. Unfortunately, this part of the human race is the part that seeks power. The greedy part, the selfish part, the ruthless part.

I remember as a child going to parties and you would play a game called pass the parcel. Sitting in a circle passing it around until the music stopped then you would try to unwrap it. It had many wrappers, the music would restart then you would have to stop unwrapping and pass it on until the next music stop. All fun and laughter, but there was usually one little **** who would hang on to the parcel and try to get the prize by ignoring the music signal to pass it on. These are the kind of humans who seek power and possessions and consider only themselves. The law of nature tends to find these people in a position to control.
Trump embodies all of this in its most exaggerated form. We do have exceptions like Mandella, Carter, and Gorbachev for example, but they are few and far between.

It's so nakedly used to distract from accrual problems that it's depressing that people fall for it

Nobody seems to care about fixing the cost of living crisis? DINGHIES!
Continuing to turn a blind eye to an ongoing genocide? DINGHIES!
A mate of Epstein was briefing the press about his "new" political project since at least 2018 and the press never asked? DINGHIES!
Our state broadcaster trying to midwife the Sweep of Brexit into Downing Street after the Sooty of Brexit did so well? DINGHIES!

Ditto the BBC's sudden glut of handwringing over antisocial behaviour, as if Portsmouth hasn't been a ****hole for decades
