    Great start for Europe, up in 3 of the foursomes.

    Scheffler and Henley - probably USA's top pairing - 4 down to Aberg and Fitzpatrick and McIlroy and Fleetwood blitzing Morikawa and English, 5 up through 8.

    What a shame that this tournament, which is generating $147m in ticket sales alone, isn’t on free to air TV. The European players at least don’t get paid for it, what is all the money spent on? Oh, it goes to those famous charitable organisations, the PGA and the DP World Tour.

    Not a bad start.

    If it wasn't so cool here in Istanbul I'd be watching this on a bloody huge screen where they show films on the pool deck.... must be 60 feet across.... unfortunately the wind is cold and there's no shelter from it....
    I would have posted a photo but it's too big for the server....
