Starmer saying you won't be able to work in the UK without the ID. I'm sure the people that are currently employing illegal immigrants and paying them in cash will definitely change their policy
Generally those born here get a NI number. Sometime in the past everyone eligible got an NHS number. The local hospital trust (hey) decided to invent their own system and allocate everyone a hey number. Just had reason to call a bit of the local health services, can you confirm your full name and date of birth. Anyone overhearing the call could pretend to be me and call five minutes later. Do pension payments still show up on bank statements as DWP then your NI number. I think we need a more secure way of doing things, I just don't trust any government to do it.
Ye builders etc are having sleepless nights at the thought of having to pay tax on all their earnings like the rest of us
I’m not sure I trust anyone, Government or otherwise, to keep everything secure indefinitely. When you see the likes of everyone from Yahoo and the Chinese Govt having literally billions of people’s data taken, casinos like MGM Grand being breached, and Jaguar and Co-op getting temporarily closed down, I don’t think any data is safe.
the fact is anything that is needed to be accessed outside of where the servers are are very prone to hacking and data theft, the only way to stop it completely is to keep them only on a lan with zero internet access but then nothing would work so realistically, theres always these risks and certain countries, spend a lot of money in having very intelligent and sophisticated network breaching systems.. funnily enough though the biggest failure point in any network and security system is almost always human error youd be surprised at how some sophisticated systems have been hacked because an employee opened a phishing email
The criminals have the edge. It's an increasingly popular occupation. Full and part-time. Can we afford to defeat crime?
