I was in the park with my dog when I saw a bloke walking towards me, "Excuse me, " I said, "I'm curious, how will you vote in the election?" "Conservative, " he replied, "can't trust Labour. "

With that, my dog bit him, So I carried on and saw another chap and asked him the same question, "Always tory, " he said, got to keep the workers in their place. " With that, my dog bit him as well. So I carried on and met a woman and asked her how she was going to vote in the election, "Labour, " she replied, "the only party to be honest, fair and just. " With her reply my dog bit her as well. I learned something today.

My dog doesn't give a **** about politics.

I had a very bad experience the other night. I went to a hypnotists show. He hypnotised seven guys then, accidentally tripped over a chair. "**** me" he said. What happened next will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Just had this from David Davis MP.. non political should concern all of us...

    Dear Mr

Thank you for contacting me about identity cards and digital IDs.

While digital IDs and ID cards sound like modern and efficient solutions to problems like illegal immigration, such claims are misleading at best and the systems involved are profoundly dangerous to the privacy and fundamental freedoms of the British people.

No system is immune to failure, and we have seen time and again governments and tech giants fail to protect people’s personal data. If those world-leading companies cannot protect our data, I have little faith that Whitehall would be able to do better.

I have long campaigned against the introduction of mandatory ID cards in the UK, as they would require undue intrusion by the state and be severely detrimental to personal privacy and individual liberty. In fact, ID cards were one of the reasons I resigned as Shadow Home Secretary in 2008 to call a by-election. You can read some of my thoughts on digital ID and ID cards on my Twitter account here and here.

The previous Conservative Government ruled out the introduction of digital ID cards after the Cabinet Office investigated the availability of photographic identification methods, such as driving licences and passports, and found that nine in ten people already hold a valid and recognisable form of photographic identification.

I am also on the board of Big Brother Watch, the campaigning group leading the opposition to identity cards and mandatory digital ID. Big Brother Watch recently published a report on the proposals for digital ID, which can be found here.

I will be following the Government’s work in this area extremely closely and will closely scrutinise any further details of the proposals.

Thank you for writing to me in this way.

    Yours sincerely,
    David Davis

Rt Hon Sir David Davis KCB MP

Totally agree with him too. We already have enough forms of identification thank you. Passports, NI number, driving license etc. I also remember the fight we had, because I was involved in it when the Minister of Sport under Thatcher, Colin Monihan? tried to force ID cards on football fans. We won that battle too. At that time City had about 4,000 regular fans and if the ID card card idea ever got off the ground it would only be those 4,000 who could ever buy a ticket. The idea was flawed and not workable and I think the digital one is too. I don't want all my personal data collected then sold off ( or stolen) to the highest bidder. Shove the idea where the sun don't shine Two Tier.

Don't really have much of an informed option on this one, but are we no one of just a handful of countries that still don't have compulsory national ID cards.
