Should have happened months ago. But good that all of these international media agencies are putting pressure on Israel to let foreign journalists in If Israel has nothing to hide then I don’t see them having a problem with it
Sudan's man made problem... https://news.sky.com/story/the-men-...e-food-into-famine-ridden-sudan-city-13431782
****ing hell I'd forgotten about that. One of the funniest/stupidest things I've ever read on here. That Pol Pot wasn't that a bad bloke really, just had a bit of disagreement with his compatriots.
Mahmoud Abbas speaking to the UN general assembly now. Palestine recognises the right of Israel to exist and has done since 1988. It is time for Israel to recognise the right of Palestine to exist. Lots more details in there but a committee has been assembled to convene a constitution ahead of free and fair elections for governance of the West Bank and Gaza under Arab and international support.
I didn't diminish the conflict there - simply pointed out that it was an indigenous conflict rather than a foreign occupation / invasion (and that the warring factions had similar military capabilities - unlike the Gaza conflict)... for those that are still struggling with that conceptually, I'm happy to expand ... as always
I wouldn't have mentioned 'equally matched forces' if that was the case ... so that reference would only have been about the conflict in Sudan ... but perhaps you could also enlighten me as to who the foreign invader / occupying foreign force was in Cambodia? I.e. something that would invalidate comments of it being an internal atrocity? ... and thereby distinguishing it from the foreign inflicted genocide in Gaza? ...
I welcome the last sentence - long overdue and a constructive first step. But the first sentence is for the birds. "Palestine recognises...and has done since 1988". False. The Palestinian Liberation Organisation recognises/d Israel's right to exist. Numerous other factions representing enormous numbers of Palestinians do not recognise Israel's right to exist and never have. To refer to "Palestine" as if it has ever been some homogenous group is categorically false. This is precisely why Hamas worked overtime to derail Oslo, and why it carried out the Oct 7th attacks. Abbas can generalise and simplify all he wants, it just isn't helpful and certainly won't resonate with the people it absolutely needs to resonate with: Pro-Israel Americans and, astounding though it may be: Ordinary Israelis.
You can all bleat ...but I was right ... Sudan - Internal conflict between roughly equally matched Sudanese militias Cambodia - Internal atrocity by a corrupt Camodian regime headed up by a mad man Gaza - foreign power inflicting genocide on an indigenous population contrary to International Law and the Geneva convention... ... for those that can't see the differences - give yer heads a wobble
