They've lost four, drawn one and won one. They sit twenty-third, so one off bottom of the table. Their only solace is found in the fact the only team below them is Sheffield United, who are yet to pick up a single point in six games. After losing at home to Swansea and Bristol City, then losing to Grimsby in the cup, they did manage to record their first win of the campaign, beating Pompey 0-2. Barry Bannan is their top scorer, with 2 goals so far...and having scored only 5 goals in 6 games, they need to start hitting the back of the net before they get cut a drift from safety. Early days though...I know. As for us, after the thrashing at Coventry, we have bounced back with three fantastic wins in a row. Those 9 points have moved us up to 9th, joint on points with 6th place. The attacking football has been marvellous to watch, and we look a proper threat going forward. The most encouraging part, for me, is that as well as a great starting line up, we also have options on the bench and don't look like a few injuries could ruin our entire season, as has happened in the past. As I have already said, early days...I know, but things are looking up. Team news and manager comments to go up when on the official, enjoy if you are making the trip, and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Nice one Dave Always have a soft spot for the Owls after living for many years in the Steel City, their supporters are way classier and more erudite than their neighbours in S2 The metaphorical Sleeping Giant club They are a club in adversity, expect anything to happen Aside from the rose tinted past of my wilderness years, here's hoping to 3 lovely points Can recommend the L&F pub on Eccy Road, the Botanist, the always convivial Ranmoor Inn and if arriving by train from that London, The Sheffield Tap on Platform 1 - a gem of a boozer
The bookies have us as marginal favourites for the win. I can't recall the last time we were (slight) favourites in an away game. Here's hoping Bannon has a week-long, temporary severe illness from which he makes a full recovery at 5pm on Saturday! Superb free kick from him in their last game.
I suspect that the referee on Saturday will be extra vigilant as regards Mbengue - that tackle last weekend has certainly proved controversial even if the majority on here err on the "full bloodied but fair challenge" side! Bad news for supporters is that my nephew is coming along to the game and both times he's been to Hillsborough we've been crap and lost
Aren’t those boozers some way from Hillsborough? Richard Hawley fans might want to try The Grapes or The Greystone (which has good live music). Cheers Dave. This one is a proper test of improvement - we are not good enough to relax against a team fighting for its life.
Don't do the Sheffield Tap you won't make the game! Some top independent beers to be sampled in there! Any official away pub?
Historically pubs round Hillsborough have been a bit of a no no. Normally stumble into Howard opposite station being a Sheff utd pub and they are playing away. Devonshire Street/Division Street best area for some serious boozing
