I sometimes think we play THB as we want to sell him, so we are forced to play him to get teams in for him and to try get our money back

I'm thinking short term fix. We're obviously going to a back four at some point but we've got three games next week and then an international break so maybe after that's the time to make the change.

You can't get all our attacking players in the team anyway. Fellows is a right winger but wide right's probably been Armstrong's best position for us as well and he seems to be our biggest goal threat right now. Fraser's been one of our better players this season but plays the same position as Scienza etc etc. If Azaz has to play you could go for a narrow 3-5-2 with two of Charles, Downes and Jander behind Azaz and two strikers. I'd probably go Stewart with Armstrong or Archer.

I'd be amazed if there was a player SR wouldn't sell. The Matheus Fernandes sale terrifies me, can't even keep a player for more than a season now.

I understand the concern, but I don’t think there’s a team on the planet that could keep hold of their player of the season, after relegation, regardless of them being here for a season or 10 seasons

Especially when the player has apparently been told by his international manager that he needs to play at a higher level if he wants to be picked for the World Cup next summer.

As has been said lots of times before, we need to survive in the PL under SR to really gauge their model. Maybe we keep Lavia/Fernades/Livramento if we don’t get relegated, maybe not (most likely not Lavia anyway). It’s impossible to judge them on players like Fernandes who were always going to want out after relegation.

The main praise they were getting was that they got good fees for any sold players, this summer may have changed people’s opinions on that, but talking to fans of other clubs they all were surprised at the fees we got for Dibling and Fernandes, thinking they would be much lower. Obviously they didn’t watch them as much as Saints fans would’ve, but that can work both ways with overvaluing a player who plays for your side
