As some will know once I get a bee in my bonnet about something i'm like a dog with a bone, but that's enough idioms for now! I honestly believe that Adarma should take over the onfield captaincy from Jack (if they are both playing of course). Last night's performance was a revelation compared to what has happened previously this season. The team was up for it from the start and Adarma led by example, pressing hard and making challenges high up the field. The energy and intensity was palpable and we never let Liverpool settle and we really should've got to penalties at least. Two seasons ago Adarma took over the captaincy when Jack was injured or dropped and kept it for the majority of the 25 match unbeaten run and performances and results dipped after Jack returned to the team and the role. I know we have Fellows now but I believe the Adarma should be a shoo in for the right attacking position.
Stephens should never have been made Captain and should never have been given a new contract. He is quite clearly not a good Captain, we are so clearly lacking leaders on the pitch and yet the man who is our main CB and has been with the club 14 years hides with them. Compare him to Fonte and look at how much he is not fit to fill his shoes. People may think I'm being harsh on Jack but it's not like he hasn't been given many many chances and he isn't improving.
I've never changed my view that in this league Armstrong should be one of the first names on the teamsheet. Just never as the lead striker. Whether he wears the captain's armband, I don't really care. Though I wouldn't have Stephens.
Captain Jack sounds better than Captain Adam. Never heard of a pirate called Captain Adam. Cue some smartarse coming up with several Captain Adams, all the way back to Admiral Noah.☠️⚓️
Don't think either are captain material. I think we should be grooming Charles as the next captain, but this season maybe too soon
Don’t think anyone’s going to be bothered about him with what appears to be a metal detector in his hand
