I think the issue with Burnham is that he is not only the mayor of Greater Manchester but also of other cities in that area. The problem is that he is New Labour and a Blairite. I will be interested to see if anyone moves against Starmer after May. I would prefer Richard Burgon as leader but was considering joining Your Party albeit I am not convinced how long they will be around.
One thing I wanted to post about was the fact that 3nr boats carrying drugs from Venezuela have now been destroyed in America missile attacks. At first I was quite shocked by this but on reflection I think it is just a more open policy of what has been happening since Reagan. What surprised me was that I thought most drugs entered the US from Columbia and have not heard of any boats from that country being destroyed. The cynic in me is saying this is more to do with sending a message to Maduro than preventing drug imports. Just cannot see this action as being straightforward.
I suspect that "boats from Venezuela" doesn't necessarily mean the drugs are from Venezuela. When one avenue has focus on it other routes are developed!
I know you are full on left-left but Burgeon would be a death knell. Burnham is a Blairite like I said but he has convinced the bubble he is appealing to normal folks and they are happy to present him as "King of the North" as if he is completely different to what went before or Starmer. The only difference between him and Starmer is he would be more convincing of being on the side of normal folks while still managing to get the money up the tree like Blair did.
