Fallen totally out of love of a having a punt lately. Seconditus turned into out of the back of the tellyitus.. I think i've had one bet in 3 weeks. My Dad fancies Impariality in the first at Ayr and he's in good form... My Dad that is, not sure about the horse... Good luck everyone.

Hopefully Into The Sky can show his debut victory wasn't a one-off by taking the Mill Reef Stakes today. Nice that the race is being run in honour of Geoff Lewis and nice that Into The Sky's owners, Pamela Wilson and Roland Stanbridge, have kept hold of the Starman colt and left him with Jim Boyle. They have hedged their bets somewhat by selling a share to Doreen Tabor (who I'm sure is acting on her own behalf and it isn't anything to do with optimising her husband's tax arrangements) but no idea how big a share they sold, nor for what price.

The reports that I read stated they sold 50%. But have no idea what the amount paid for that share was.

I thought Into The Sky ran an extremely solid race yesterday and it was some feat to achieve 'Group 2 placed' on just his second run. You can pick some holes in the performance but as I say overall very, very solid run and certainly something to build upon go forward.

Trainer though, this morning, seemingly stating that will be it for the season and all being well Into The Sky's next outing will be in the '26 Greenham. After that surely they are going to have to run the old boy somewhere other than Newbury!!!

If he wins the Greenham you’d think they would have to go for the 2000 Guineas. If with a capital I at this stage obviously.

With faster ground he would have probably won. I doubt he would beat Words of Truth over 8f though

Interesting to see a colt by Lope de Vega out of an Australia mare having so much speed. It almost feels like the 60s and 70s (and before) when horses with stout pedigrees were expected to win over 6f as a 2yo.
So where will he go next: Middle Park or Dewhurst or both?
Appropriate bottom half to his pedigree for a Mill Reef winner as his 4th, 5th and 6th dams were all owned and bred by Paul Mellon (the owner of Mill Reef).

They've had Newbury so late and Newmarket so early this year that there's little chance of Words of Truth going for the Middle Park.
The Middle Park used to be the obvious next race after the Mill Reef, but they've probably snookered that (this year at least).
