Believe they’ll be sound in terms of their league position but they’ll definitely be stretched squad wise. Tough test away at Union SG in the Champions League next week

The bairn informs me they have Leverkusen away midweek just before they head to the SoL in December. Hopefully Xhaka has a word with a few ex team mates to stick the boot in.

I cannot fathom what goes on in someone’s head when putting that together. Good grief, it is disturbing

They've been a lot quieter at work since the season started that's for sure.

Just need the Mags to keep firing blanks, they’re well short up top currently

Leeds A and Wolves H aren't games a CL side should be losing ...

... I'd be gutted if Sunderland did.

Newcastle have spent a huge amount on forwards, if they're well short it's entirely their own fault.

We got the same result with 10 men against 11 man Villa as they got with 11 men against 10 man Villa...

Wolves are weaker than West Ham and Brentford in my opinion - away at Bournemouth is not dissimilar to away at Palace. Leeds away equals Burnley away. The Liverpool games makes their run harder than ours but it has by no means been a particularly hard set of fixtures for them.

They didn’t? 4 points and 2 clean sheets

The Wissa injury is killing them at the moment. Long may it continue…

I've just realised that this isn't some sort of joke?

They have spent time, money and effort to come up with a new mascot. And they name it after an absolute Sunderland legend who has a huge stand named after him?

Do I have this right, or am I not seeing the joke?

It's almost as if their owners have no idea about their club nor northeast football history in general. Not sure how that could have happened at all.

Would it kill you to give Sunderland some real credit and stop making endless sly excuses for Newcastle ffs ...

... I really hoped you'd give it a rest this season but you're just relentless with your little digs for us and praise for them.

What a weird world you exist in.

They claim that "Monty the Magpie" has been their mascot since the 50s because back then they had a magpie as a mascot. BUT the NAME "Monty" only send recently attached and only very recently published. It's like they just picked a random name beginning with "M" and attached it, without anything thought.

"So, our mascot is a magpie, we need a name for it, any ideas"
"Er, how about "Monty"? It begins with "M", as does "Magpie""?
"That'll do, everyone will think of NUFC when they hear the name "Monty", so unique."

Micky the Magpie or Jimmy the Magpie (after Sid James park) would work better. Work Micky or wor Jimmy, it works. Honestly, not an original thought in their heads.

    I'm on about you.

Perhaps you don't know how you come across but I'd hate to spend any time at a Sunderland game with you ...

... it's just grindingly picking at Sunderland and finding ways to praise Newcastle.

I can't imagine what kind of football supporting household you were brought up in, must've been grim.
