We looked like a bunch of fairly young and inexperienced Championship players trying their best I am sure but lacking any real threat in attack until the end . With a manager who has picked quite random teams probably hoping something works .
I am so angry about this performance, I don't usually get wound up. But, this had to be the game we really showed some guts and guile. Neither so far.
I was at the game right in line with the goal, and I felt at the time the wall for the free kick was wrong. Too for to the left, and someone lying behind the wall at an angle that wouldn’t have scored a goal anyway. Whole thing should have been a yard to the right. Fact Selvik hit the post makes me think he had lost awareness of his goal behind him. Was a decent strike, but seemed possible to reach. Defence generally seems solid, but not enough speed and urgency in the final third. Just couldn’t create anything.
The defensive side of things seems ok and fairly solid even if the back line does change each game . But the attacking output is well below par for the potential we have and clearly he doesn’t want to play Baah and Irankunda together . As for the strikers - none of them are a real regular goal scoring threat and are still young with no real experience at all .
only a matter of time , another loss and surely that will, Be it ? It’s like pig in a poke , keep going till you find someone……tragic really , no self respecting established manager will touch the job ….
The ironic thing is I think it’s the best performance I’ve ever seen from us at The Den! The other two were two seasons ago and when we lost in the cup under Mazzari
All of the above. I didn't get there after all, due to work issues. Quite glad really as that was a stressful watch, irritating. I have no comment on the officiating, again, which can only be a good thing!
Yeah, I thought it would have been a bit soft. The lad was determined to fall as he fancied his chances more from a penalty than a shot on goal. There was contact, but it's a contact sport but not enough for it to be a foul, IMHO.
I read the managers comments on the club website and I wonder if he has been watching the same match. Either that or he delusional.
