He looks superb, got everything you'd want in a defender and a bit more. Him, Ballard and Alderete together are a brick wall in defence and a battering ram in attack.
His trousers are gonna get weighed down with the amount of strikers he has in his pockets! Got MOTM today
Everything I've seen of this guy screams quality and the best bit is he's not even playing in his best position. It's great to have that mix of pace and physically as a centre back and he certainly hasn't looked out of place in there. I'd probably give him motm today just ahead of Alderete and Sadiki for me. Finally he seems to be genuinely loving it here as well getting the crowd up a few times today. Has all the attributes to become an absolute hero here.
Was really excited by geertruida but who knows how he gets in the team with how Hume and Mukiele have played.
Yeah that's true he was interacting with the crowd a lot, especially when he put a tackle in. Love to see that. His tackling looks to be exceptional btw, legs like an octopus but no fouling.
He has said his best position is RB so imagine how good he must be there (Trai, you need to be careful not to get injured/suspended or you migh not get your place back). He also said that if he gets love he will give it back 10 times - well we are all going to get smothered if these performances are kept up IMMENSE
We are incredibly fortunate that he had a couple of years with injuries (still played plenty games mind). He looks every bit an elite level defender. Every bit good enough to play for PSG and Leipzig. He and Omar are stunning buys, so good we haven’t really seen Geetruida yet. And there’s Ballard, Luke…. The defence is outstanding. Trai has effortlessly stepped up and been excellent in every game too.
Remember when we had the argument about whether we needed one or two quality centre backs. They’re overflowing.
Versatile as well. Mukiele can play RB, Geertruida can play RB and DM. Alderete is an out an out CB but left footed which is gold and his composure is off the scale. I thought Roefs had made his first big error mainly due to the fact you heard how hard a touch he got on it even in the stadium, but having seen back from multiple angles ball goes crazy in the last yard before it reaches him. This defence doesn’t go down. Reg speed in rejigging was incredibly impressive and they barely looked like scoring even with the spare man. When the goals start going in, we won’t be ‘hard to beat’ we’ll be ‘hard to get anything from’. I’m looking at games like Forest away now and thinking we can get something there. Games that 6 weeks ago looked mountainous. Only really City, Arsenal and Liverpool you really think are nailed on 0 points. Sure, there’ll be plenty losses over the season but with that back 5 we will stay in vast majority of games.
We almost certainly won’t go on a losing streak mate, I’m overly concerned about December now either. The 3 you mentioned plus Chelsea freebies.
Aye the AFCON thing isn’t a big deal is it? We will have no wingers in theory, but we could go Wilson left Mayenda right Brobbey centre. Sadiki a big miss but we can drop Geertruida into DM with Rigg/Enzo. There’s cover everywhere really, Mundle be ready by then too you’d hope. Recruitment really was levels up.
That's just pure filth for the pass and such a clever header. i know its early in the season, but i have been so impressed with Mukiele and Alderete.
He did well in that left wing position a couple of times after the ball found its way back to him after he took a long throw. Dropped the shoulder and wasn't afraid to run at the fullback. Quality
