Watched a bit. The Saudis had a couple of decent chances, but you could tell Barca were levels and levels above them. Pedri and De Jong absolutely schooled the 3 Saudi midfielders
"I've seen more high-tempo action on a Sunday afternoon down at the allotment, but it ends all square" That quote tickled me on the Mags game - it was on the BBC today when I was reading after the game
Watched the highlights on MOTD, very lucky. Voldemort has a blatant dive for a penalty after a bit of shirt pulling, Tonali should have conceded a penalty for hand ball and that new centre half (Thiew?sp) should have been sent off. They made excuses for them playing in mid week, but they looked naff and toothless. A few more performances like that and the moans will start.
Just seen on Facebook, Wor flags is doon! Getting sued for the use of 'wor' and are now NCL flags. Just a little thing but a further push away from their roots for the Saudis
Some brewery has trademarked it. They used to be in cahoots with the flags formerly known as Wor but they've had a falling out, or oot!
They haven’t banned ‘Wor Flags’ for using it, Wylam Brewery we’re gonna make them a beer to support their charity efforts called ‘Wor Beer’ or some **** and a brewery has blocked it. Said brewery has trademarked ‘wor’ for use as a beer name essentially, you can’t trademark a word without context. A rare occasion I’d side with the Mags lot because it was actually a really good touch by the Wylam lot a was gonna be for good causes. I know a couple of lads involved with Wylam and they great lads. I can never agree with anything that blocks helping folk in need. Let’s focus on the things that lot are actually **** at, like playing football and brushing their tooth (not a typo)
Not football related, but I saw this on the Mackem Life Facebook page. As a background for those that don't know, she's a lass who posts videos and pictures promoting the North East in general and Sunderland in particular as she says "proving the North isn't as grim as they think". Harmless and challenging the stereotype of up here. Well, one of our Geordie neighbours has taken a dislike to her and messaged her, which she's shared... Why are they so obsessed about that airport? And what kind of bloke has to go out of his way to insult a lass using language like that? Really, it goes beyond football, there's a huge psychological problem with some Skunks to anything related to Sunderland.
The only possible explanation for this type of behaviour is a personal insecurity. Or in some cases, an inferiority complex. And of course, the airport is in Gosforth, not Newcastle, and the percentages are the other way round, the authority owning the 51%. So, what she could have said was that Sunderland City Council have the largest share of the controlling majority stake. But that might have been unfair.
They are definitely in a spot of bother. A few at work are very nervous and looking over their shoulders at West ham, wolves results etc.
