Reading Still's post match interview is very worrying. He seems to think that we dominated but the reason we lost is because we didn't believe we would score. God help us.
If you look at the stats on the BBC site you would have thought we would have been the winners. We had much better possession, more accurate passing, more shots. In fact everything except the important one of goals scored.
Ok so some slightly calmer thoughts now I've had time and some sleep. That was a ****ing hard watch yesterday. I'm not sure what the issue is. We can argue tactics, XG and formation but the reality is we're really quite bad at football. This morning I'm not Will Still out, mainly because we'll just recruit someone worse and there's really no point. Highlight of the game yesterday was the atmosphere. There was some brilliant gallows humour, and you lot should thank poor Libby for standing there and taking my unfiltered ranting, which saved me putting it on here. The bloke deserves a medal for that. Normally in those sort of games there'll be pockets of fans turning on each other but it was universally accepted that we were horrendous so there was some genuinely funny abuse being dolled out. To compound a brilliant away day, we got so ****ing soaked that I had to buy the boy an emergency new jumper and the BBQ place he had been looking forward to all week hadn't received our online reservation. Oh and I've woken up feeling hungover which is bullshit because I only had about 5 pints. The only, and I genuinely mean only, benefit is thats another ground can be done on the boys scratch map thingy so we won't have to come up here again.
Must admit I was looking forward to reading your rant when I got in and was disappointed when there wasn't one. Gutted about the BBQ mate. Talk about sticking the final nail in a **** away day! At least you saw lots of crosses.
I've just remembered that I think I got caught speeding on the way home too Any chance that I can blame Saints and have them take the 3 points instead?
We went to the Odeon because my wife gets a few free tickets with her bank account....but we prefer the plaza as it really is a cinema of the old days
We all know that the only stats that matter are the goals we score or let other teams score against us and hopefully the former is greater than the latter! Clearly that is a grade more intelligence that our recent and (now it seems our present one) have failed to understand. We came away pointless and yet again we are invited to listen to another pointless post match interview demonstrating that the above principle is beyond the person offering it. Once he went on the ‘we had more possession’ tack, I terminated the interview.
What was the reaction like at the end? I left on 80 minutes as the rain looked like it had eased of and missed most the traffic so was home just after 9pm, which was the only good thing about the day
Is it wrong then that we are toothless up front and give away soft goals? We did dominate the game in every other aspect and he pointed out the areas where we looked poor. I think this is weird criticism.
Yeah I don’t think his comments were that bad. We did dominate large parts of the game, but didn’t defend at all (which he also said) which cost us the game.
Just been listening to "Going Home with Adam & Jo" and have to say I agree with everything they're saying especially regarding the forwards. Jo, I think ( having played at the highest level ) is exactly on point in his views about Downs not being ready for this level and Will Still being very raw and a big gamble being given the the task and taking Saints straight back up into the Prem. I'm giving it until we've played 15 games to make a decision on whether SR have made another howler in recruiting him. As always Just Saying.........
Ah bless you, the ref started 2 seconds after KO with Fellows being run into by your player, falling over getting a cheap FK, I suggest specksavers appointment for you if you believe otherwise
I think Tessum to is very underwhelmed with our squad and think this has been the case since he replaced Merrington on Solent. He liked the unbeaten run in the promotion campaign yet feel he is less impressed than most supporters.
He also said the other bit. Saying one accurate thing doesn't make his other comments any less stupid.
