Had a bit of a wobbly. Read something unpleasant that someone wrote about me on Wednesday night. This was my body's stress reaction to it on Thursday.

I've been a bit shook up about Ricky Hatton but then two days later a man, who had been missing for 3 days, was found on Tuesday morning having committed suicide right near my daughters primary school. Both of these men appeared to be well liked and had families. This is in the same village.

One thing about being a farmer is your kids know exactly what death is and it doesn’t bother them.

Ah that’s awful man Becs. Not sure what platform that was on. I’m not on any social media other than here and RTG but a lot of people who were on Twitter and Facebook that have subsequently come off them reckon it’s a massive benefit to them. One of my lads used to get really wound up by twitter and is much happier since he ditched it.

Hope you are OK and can get some rest and peace of mind and can enjoy the game tomorrow.

Our four year old walked past half a lamb in one of our paddocks the other day, said "the foxes have had their dinner."

34 years old I was yesterday, and, while I am happy, I just had a moment if relapse about how far behind everyone else I am.

They've got houses/flats, they've got families/starting them.. and I'm just in a rut and such.

I suppose there's only one person who can change that, but it somehow hits home on your birthday a little more..

Life isnt a race mate and don't compare your self to others. You're on your own journey and you'll get to where you're going in your own time

Spot on.Too many people feel they need to themselves to others which unfortunately is a major downside of social media and society in general.

Run your own race, at your own pace. No two people are the same and i reckon that half those who profess to have an idyllic life are miserable as sin in reality

Pressure from social media for young children on what they should look like or what looks good, what they should eat etc. As you get older Pressure from your parents / grandparents why haven't you settled down yet or got a house or getting married etc. Times have changed and you're your own person.

One good thing they're implementing in Aus is social media platforms must implement reasonable steps for age verification in an effort to restrict U16's having social media accounts.
Won't stop them all but hopefully makes a difference

It’s not your fault the world is hard to navigate. Don’t blame yourself. It’ll come though. No one makes any rules. Just make each day work for you

    Happy Birthday.

I echo the replies and genuinely don't ever feel behind anyone.

Run or walk your own race.

You are important and are treading your own path.

Please take this the way I mean it, I feel very lucky but have struggled at times this year.

Support is here and the only expectation is the one you put on yourself.

You're part of a canny family here.

Feel free to give me a shout, if you don't I won't be offended but please don't feel like you're in a rut.

Belated happy birthday. What's one little thing you can do to change how you feel right now? Maybe start a hobby or other social activity where you can meet more people and see what happens?

I second all the "it's not a race" type comments. There's a good reason people say be thankful for what you have. It is hard when you see the lives on social media etc. Remember thought, they're just the best highlights that you want people to see. They don't show what happens behind closed doors when things are not going so well.

If it's any consolation, I did it all early. Married, home, children etc. I'm now 50, single, youngest just started uni and I'm struggling with a bad case of empty nest syndrome. It's not always greener.

Visited my uncle yesterday. He has stage 4 cancer with secondaries all over. It really shook me how ill he looked, I almost took a step back when I walked into his house. My Dad and their other brother are doing everything for him, his layabout daughter hasn’t even seen him in the last few weeks - bone ****ing Idle - and it winds me up so much how people can be so uncaring about their elderly parents. Really upset me that yesterday.

our birthdays are 6 days apart - he will turn 80 in January, a few days before I turn 50. I had hoped he would see his 80th birthday but I don’t think he’ll be with us long.
