Side note worth mentioning - been impressed with Egan recently as well. He's becoming a real goal threat from set pieces and in open play. I'm not expecting him to score screamers, but when we get forward he's continuing to give them something to think about and if he keeps it up he'll bag a couple more over the season.
- less than 30% possession - still score on the counter and a danger at set pieces - several yellow cards - constant ****housery and aggression We’re the English Getafe.
Still bemoans Saints defending - reaction Southampton manager Will Still told BBC Radio Solent: "I'm really disappointed "I think we've worked incredibly hard on things out of possession, I think we've worked hard on things in possession. "I think for large parts of that game we were totally in control, but we've just gifted three goals away. "As long as we're defending like that we're not going to go anywhere. "I'll take it on me, I'll take it as my responsibility and we just need to get on with things." please log in to view this image 02:58 Media caption, Still: ‘We’re not going to win a game of football defending like that’ Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside: "I'm very happy because the players put everything out on the pitch with energy, with intensity. "We were struggling in some situations because Southampton is a very good team, invest a lot of money and they will fight for promotion for sure because this is traditional. "I knew we wouldn't have the ball because they are very good in possession, but the plan was that we were compact if we are low or in the middle zone. "At the end it succeeded because we scored three beautiful goals, especially with crosses, because when we analysed Southampton they struggled with controlling the players in the box." please log in to view this image 10:53
Ipswich not happy with Greaves after his red today https://www.reddit.com/r/Championship/comments/1nm12jn/do_a_little_run_look_like_you_fit_in/
Six of one half dozen of the other imo but Destan does seem to react, err, vigorously. As much as we like a bit of aggression and ****housery we don't need red cards.
Coyle was beaten for several crosses defensively but fortunately Southampton weren’t up to much. Can’t fault his crossing today though.
Got home I’m cold very wet but very happy ! On a side note it maybe me getting older and more cynical but how poor is the officiating at most games these days .
Deluded with a superiority complex. ...However, there was a good bunch of their guys in the Walton Club after the game...Admitting that they were $hit...I'm sure I heard the exact same chant coming from those left inside the stadium.
I enjoyed that , I think we're a proper football team again possession in football is absolutely meaningless unless you do something with it
