Finally back at car thank ****. The walk in the rain gave me some time to calm down and reflect a bit. And the conclusion I've come to is that I think we should try getting it wide and crossing it a bit more.
I mean my point overall is that I can’t think of many players recently that fit both of these requirements A) Wants to be play for us and B) is good. And it’s a bit of a concern. Fernandes is a bit question mark for me. How has he gone after one good year, either we wanted his price tag instead or he has joined us and pushed his way out within a year so he clearly didn’t really want to play for us. Surely 2 years it not a huge expectation to be expected to stay at a club. And he didn’t have the best start to the season but since he’s gone we can barely create a chance. Again it speaks to the overall attitude of the players joining our club, our promise under the Poch/Koeman era was essentially “come play for us, have a great season or 2 and get your move to Liverpool or United” and that promise has now turned into the clubs identity. I imagine the pitch from agents is still “it’s good stepping stone club”, almost like a prison sentence, do your time, be on good behaviour and now you’ll be out within a year. Dibling is another example, we have managed to get to the point where we don’t even get to enjoy our academy players in consistently good form before they’re shouting for a way out. Sulemana and Dibling both got sold of showing a bit of good form in the winter last year. All we do is show if you play well for a bit, you’re getting sold. You can say “that’s just how football works these days” but if you do then you can’t be bewildered as to why your club isn’t building towards **** all.
Yep. This. I'm sick of our CBs basically heading the long balls about two metres in front of them to know one. Championship teams will have about three players chasing that ball before our lot have f*cking woken up. Just head it back to keeper or out of play.
The thing that amazes me is that everyone complained about the need to get rid of the dead wood in the summer but the club seems to have signed new players that are so crap that we will struggle to move tgem on too. I expecting that Still would be a steady pair of hands but that we would need to consolidate this season. I have always felt promotion was very unrealistic. Still will come good at some point although I am not sure he will have time to fulfil his potential with us. If he goes , this causes an issue for SR who will be admitting to getting another appointment wrong. I agree with Still's comments about building a team on rubble but just wonder how much that statement was responsible for today's performance. Not convinced that binning him now is tge right option but there is certainly a question mark over him which did not exist before.
Looking at the bbc reporting (trying to catch up on the lost chunk) and reading the stats and what live text there is you'd wonder how we lost that - was it really (anger and frustration of those who watched aside) just a case of we don't have anyone why can actually score?
Yes, but we can't continue to blame Russ/last season for everything. This is all down to having a manager that can't manage.
First half we were ****, but better than we have been in any other first half this season imo. Their goal was terrible defending with Stephens and THB both going for the same ball and both losing out to their player who headed back across goal and Bazunu saved, but parried it straight into an oncoming Hull player and the ricochet went in Second half we started well, being camped on the edge of their area for most of the first 10 mins or so of the half. First time they got out THB plays a **** pass and loses the ball and they counter and score. Third goal was a corner I think where we couldn’t defend the high ball again. Armstrong took his goal well Stats might say we were on top but we felt very unthreatening watching the whole game, and every time they went forward it felt like something could happen
No that one is starting to grow thin but my comment was alluding to the fact the players from last season were all defenders in a game we lost 3-1. Perhaps they just played crap / are just crap.
They had a total nightmare today, but they've been adequate in previous games. Stephens and THB are definitely good enough for this division. Don't know what happened them today but perhaps the Jander/Downes change wasn't good for them. I don't know, but it was freakish how poor they were.
