The Met has launched the murder investigation after a man died in hospital days after he was reportedly assaulted in the Southwark area of the capital. Lewis Macleod, 36, of Hadleigh Road, Sunderland was charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm and one count of actual bodily harm Officers were called shortly before 3am on Saturday, September 13th to reports of an altercation. They attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, where a man was taken to a central London hospital in a life-threatening condition. He died on Wednesday, September 17th. He has been named as Michael John Edwards, 43, of Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
