Send me a DM with it mate. I'll gladly read it. Good to see you back. Nice to see one of the original BBC606ers still going.
I thought Eddie and the medical team fcuked up by not taking Schar off straight away after he got clobbered in face by Rashfords shot. Schar was most probably still as groggy as fcuk which resulted in him losing Rashford for the first goal. Oh well, only have to move 2 places up the league table to qualify for the play offs
It's that long since I've been on here and coupled with the fact I'm beyond three score years and ten, I need a little reminder how to do it. That as well....." not now nurse I'm busy ".
The back four earned their places and frankly Botman again looked like the plodder amongst them when he came on
Thiaw looks classy mind. I would like to see us set up with a back 4 of either: Tino Thiaw Burn Hall Or Tino Thiaw Botman Hall Agree that Botman looks sluggish. He either needs more time, or will be impacted long term by his injuries.
A muppet masquerading as a human whilst calling himself Gangsta Ginola trying to educate others is a crumb of comfort to draw on from tonight. Just because you are so mentally defective that you are unable to correctly use the English language there is no need to start a bed wetting spree amongst your constant panic driven posts. Try growing a back bone and stop behaving and posting like a 3 yo child. You used the phrase 'up front'. We play 3 'up front'. Gordon was playing 'up front' when he scored. Its not that difficult, at least for most of us. You whine when others get personal and play the victim. Invariably, you're the one who starts it as you have this time. This time try growing up. You got it wrong You were picked up on it. Accept you were wrong.
To me, against top sides, the game plan seems to be: 1st quarter: Press hard, try to force mistakes and get a couple of early goals. 2nd quarter: Drop a bit deeper, win the 1v1's and try to counter with pace to get behind the opposition. Press hard again in the last 5 minutes of the 1st half to try to catch them napping. 2nd halves against top sides I haven't worked out yet, as we seem to repeat the 2nd quarter but forget how to pass. Against low blocks, the 1st quarter stays the same, but in the second it's more controlled possession, passing and probing for a way through, then in the second half, if we're not ahead, dropping back to catch them with pace on the counter. I don't think we have the squad for the tippy tappy passing game. yes we could have brought more of those types of players in, but at that point you have a split squad that will be collectively rubbish at both ways of playing. Don't get me wrong, I think we missed out on a creative passing midfielder in the De Ketelaere mold to help us unlock defenses and play in a different way. Maybe Woltemade can do this once Wissa is back fit. I do think that Ramsey and Wissa getting injured early is a big blow to what Howe wants to accomplish. We need to get a left footer on the left (can only be Hall) to allow faster balls into the box rather than having to cut back all the time.
5 games into the season after a cup and CL qualification… he's still pretty bullet proof at this point. We’ve only lost to the English champions (in the dying seconds) and the Spainish double champions (should have been 2 ahead) so far this season…. He’s fully bullet proof. 3 clean sheets in 5, 5 goals conceded and starting to score goals now a striker is on the pitch…. He is the bullet.
I think Botman just needs game time. I'd hope to see him start against Bournemouth with Thiaw and start to build an on the pitch partnership. Botman has never been the quickest, but does know how to position himself to snuff out danger and his passing is usually accurate. Add in Thiaw's speed and flair (if he can turn Barca's forwards, he can turn most PL forwards) and the backline should settle into a new look.
Yeah, good times. Must have been something earth moving for you to not join in these esoteric and philosophical discussions.
