Not going to happen is it. If we want him and he wants to come here we will likely pay a little less than what they turned down in the summer. Players can't just rip up their contacts because they have been offered an extra 15k a year elsewhere. Entire game falls apart if so.
He runs down his contract and we pick him up summer 2027. I wouldn’t be offering a little less mind, I’d be decreasing it quite a bit. Probs £15m Jan. £10m summer etc.
Agree with that. Don't think we are getting him on a free and frankly hope we don't. Wouldn't be right and would hate it if one of our plays did that to us.
They literally can under article 17 if the other conditions are met. Even the threat of doing this likely means we get him for less than they rejected in January, stupid stance by any club nowadays to force a player to remain once they’ve hit that 3rd year.
As Nads has said this article 17 allows exactly that to happen. There are conditions the first being that they have been there for more than 3 years. I believe the biggest one thats going to stop it is it needs to be invoked within 15 days of season ending. More often than not a player is going to be pissed off and wanting to invoke it during the season after a window has closed and they weren't allowed to move.

lol. I tend to go missing on here during the international break. Saw it on tv and couldn’t see a mention of it here. Some goal but typical of some of the useless defending over here!
Not sure we need Lucumi any more. Definitely not if the lads who we've brought in this summer work out. We've got loads of defenders now - ones that should be good for the next couple of years. If we add defenders from here they probably need to be more at the prospect end - and preferably home grown ones too
