Shame that. But it hasnt worked. Love him for trying though, fair play. I would happily see him back here as part of our player development staff. His work on individual improvement is supposed to be excellent. A role where he identifies small incremental individual improvements for young lads like Rigg, Talbi, Mayenda, Diarra etc could be worth its weight in gold.
I would welcome him back for sure, He tried, he failed, but doesn't make him a bad coach..the number 1 role is just not for him
Wycombe was a poor choice in a first club. They were unsettled because their best player wanted away, the fans expected them to go up and they were gutted to lose Bloomfield ... ... ironically Luton are doing little better than Wycombe, lost the last two of their three games.
Aye, that is true. Hopefully he learns. The reaction of our players when he left says a lot about the fella to me.
I didn't understand why he wanted the top job. He has the highly desired skill of developing young talent into world class players. Everybody he's worked with seemed to praise him to high heaven. It baffled me why he wanted to put all that to the side in favour of a completely different job. He didn't shine as a stand-in manager with us and the decision to join a club mourning the loss of the messianic Gareth Ainsworth was brave at best. He's now in the position of having to go 'backwards' into high level youth coaching or keep flogging a dead horse trying to be a head coach.
Wycombe are the Scrappy-Doo of football ... ... think they're tougher than they are, always believe they can punch about their weight and leave a bit of a mess behind please log in to view this image
Sad about Dodds but he's still very young for a manager. More time as an actual assistant should do him good. Not convinced that Mike Duff is actually any better though.
I’d be delighted to see Doddsy back here. He may be better off going as an assistant somewhere and then going again, but I’m sure there’s a role for him here if he wants it. Can’t blame him for trying, just never looked an ideal place for his first gig.
Hope he works out what's best for him. Seemed a good fit here when he was here, but we have pulled in other coaches since then, so not sure he'll be back here. Maybe for the best. Don't blame him for trying, but being in charge is not for everyone. Nowt wrong with doing what you're good at if that is an assistant.
Seems a popular bloke with the players and obviously a decent coach but I’d hope the recruitment of back room staff recently has put us above his level now. Hope he does well in whatever opportunity he gets next
Southampton fans don't seem too impressed with Will Still right now. Opinions are that he clueless and out of his depth, though they do say he hasn't got his brothers with him. Does seem like we might have had a lucky break not getting him.
Perhaps Southampton aren’t very good either. I wouldn’t really know how they’ve been recently … … but I do remember them being ‘the model Sunderland should be aspiring to.’ It’s all gone wrong for them.
