Not pretty but job done. It's interesting watching the warm ups...very different from what they did under Ange.
Practicing defending and attacking at corners etc

Also Frank is far more involved on the sidelines than Ange was. Gives advice/instructions to players and goes back to peak to coaches.

What was pleasing was the crowd stayed with the team...and the players showed good game management at the end rather than total panic.

Think that it'll take time for the players to get used with Frank's plans and Frank has to get used to CL football and the players need to get used to the "making the most of it" dives and rolling around in the CL.

    I think it’s a mentality thing

    needs sorting out

Games we should be dominating seem to be the ones we struggle in

wont be the first time we think we just need to turn up to win and get found out for it

    hopefully lessons are being learnt

Haven't read the thread yet, but I'm sure we're all on the same page.
Got the points and kept a clean sheet, which is the main thing.
Failed to create virtually anything though and the subs didn't really help.

I really hope that we give Odobert and/or Tel a shot on the left wing.
Udogie getting back up to speed could seriously help, too.
Nothing wrong with Spence's performances, by any means, but we need width down that side.

Our midfield's full of players individually doing well and putting in serious shifts.
The balance is wrong, though. Lots of graft and not enough craft.
We suffered from striker isolation problems last season and it's still a big issue.

Early days for Frank and I'm sure he's already picked up on this ****.
We look a lot more solid and stable, already.

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention, THOMAS PARTEY, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE! Rapist ****.
Also, I've never seen such a small away following. Probably don't want to be associated with that.

Thomas Frank was our best bit of business in the Summer

Deserves to utilise his management skills at a big club like Spurs to see where he can take us

Early days and we saw how quickly it went wrong with Ange after a fantastic start but it does seem promising in that he’s adaptable and very involved on the sidelines during games. The players clearly liked Ange but so far they all seem to be gelling well with Frank too. Feels like he’s be manager for a lot longer than he has tbh.

Would love to see the club win a domestic cup this season. FA Cup win is long overdue

I may have misheard them but I'm pretty sure the commentators mentioned there being just 250 of their fans.

Frank is clearly aware of the issues and in his post match comments he doesn't show the stubborn defensive dismissiveness of his predecessor.

He specifically spoke about making sure we have a strong foundation in place first and foremost, and that work on the attack will follow.

Four clean sheets in five indicates that his plan is working. Ultimately if you have a strong foundation capable of shutting out the opposition, you can play badly and chances are you will walk away with at least a point.

I think we have had six or seven managers that have come out with similar statements.

Ultimately results determine success but it’s good to hear a manager talking sense. I’d argue the last two Utd managers haven’t spoke well at all.

You'd have Thomas Frank over your last 6/7 managers any day as a fanbase imo if you did an independent poll.

From Jose onwards all your managers have thrown the squad under the bus in interviews.

Not saying he’s the best etc etc but his demeanour is nothing like any of your former gaffers from what I see

Early days yet , lastnights forwards and midfield have never played together , Xavi was putting in good balls to players not there ,we still need to see the new players and old stock meld and I don't think that will happen for 6 or 7games yet

Not a very inspiring performance, lots of promise but no threat in the final third. Kudus & Bergvall were our best players maybe because they were the only 2 who looked like making something happen, although both went down to too many blind alleys. Xavi and Spence lacked understanding (hardly surprising), and particularly 2nd half were too close to each other.

One of those games where no one played particularly badly but on one really excelled.

Ref was awful 7 bookings and yet there was barely a bad challenge in the game, I know that some thought Xavi may have been lucky to avoid a 2nd yellow and from the other end of the ground I was concerned that Micky may have been the last man, but equally I am not sure given his performance that I would have expected the ref to get those decisions right!

I think this photo shows Captain and Manager are reading the same script

It's easy to forget that we are missing three of our best attackers in Solanke, Kulu and Maddison.

Richarlison once again showed how limited he is as a striker. Can't hold the ball up, can't dribble with it and can't complete simple passes. And then when the opportunity comes (brilliant Kudus ball to the far post), he isn't brave enough to finish it. I'm much more intrigued to see RKM in that role. The Brazilian has had three years to make it his own and has failed to do so quite spectacularly.

We also saw a reminder of how limited Brennan is. Apart from putting the ball in the net, the bloke literally does nothing. For a player blessed with pace, he seems remarkably reluctant to run.

If the ref had been consistent then Xavi is a very lucky boy. A clear 2nd yellow and should have walked.

With the VDV one, for me the striker was running away from goal so I thought that was a good decision.

Johnson is a total enigma and did look lost, especially when he plays on the left side.

What ever way you look at it Richi was poor last night, and you could see that he knew it in the reaction to being taken off.
