what about the impact from the hole in the ozone layer….the scientists said we were doomed….hole healed itself I think….scaremongering to raise taxes….
Worldwide acceptance, including China, that CFC's were a massive contributor to the hole(s). Result, massive reduction of CFC's, hole 'fixes itself'.
In the articles studied regarding whether climate change was man made, 69% of the articles took "no position". Only 16% explicitly thought it was man made.
There were a lot of studies and articles excluded too. It's also difficult to get funding for studies that go against the grain, and there are also confounding studies that ended up not published. Which are just a few of the issues with claims about 'consensus'. On top of that Science is a process, not a popularity contest and it should always be open to rigorous challenge. Sadly, the scientific studies tend to be applied to reports by people who are not themselves experts in the specific field and don't fully grasp the nuance, or misapply studies to reach conclusions that are not really compatible with the study itself.
Thanks, at least someone is willing to provide answers and not being a smug evasive knob about it. You got a link to that so I can read up on it?
And you wonder why I don't feel inclined to spend my time educating you. You are quite pompous for someone that admits to being ignorant. Try leaving out the personal digs. It doesn't help your argument or further discussion.
I found this link https://www.aei.org/carpe-diem/50-y...ic-predictions-the-so-called-experts-are-0-50 It references some other article but the link doesnt work. There is a Breitbart link too, but its mostly the same. Many of the source links don't work, but it's clear that some of them are bad faith. TV show predictions, comments from public figures etc and not necessarily from scientific studies. Also, some of them aren't actually wrong any more. For example, America does have bigger hurricanes nowadays, we are seeing record temperatures all over (not in Washington DC though). Also peak oil appears in the list six times, and that's not a prediction of a climate disaster. Many of them are valid, but without source links its hard to know whether the predictors were of a scientific background.
All the countries who now get regular flooding..and i mean all of them. Have all had mass deforestation over the last 50 years...no trees equals more flooding in localised areas where deforestation has happened.
IE there is zero scientific evidence to support man made climate change. In the meantime we have to endure certifiable lunatics like the ‘minister for climate change’.
Ah,but you can't believe random people on football message boards, even if that's where you are posting.
Even if there are some links, the extent is debatable, and the solutions offered are unlikely to resolve the stated issue despite huge expense as well as food and energy insecurity. I'm 100% behind protecting the environment, but many of the measures pushed make the situation worse and increase things like fires and floods.
