Chelsea will listen to offers for £50million flop Fernando Torres in next month's transfer window.

The £150,000-a-week striker has scored just three Barclays Premier League goals since his move to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool on January 31.
Chelsea considered sending him on loan to rebuild his shattered confidence, but they are now prepared to sell.

It's amazing what's happened to Torres.
How can a bloke go from being outstanding to pants in no time at all?
All that talent must still be in there so any club buying him just needs to inject some confidence and he could be brilliant once again.
I'd love us to try for 20M, MON could be just what he needs. We'd never get him though I think he'll be off home to Spain.

This is one fantasy too far.

Not only would he not come; not only would he cost too much even at £20m; not only are his wages too much; half the top sides in Europe will be after him.

He may well have flopped at Chelsea but he is a class act and way, way above our status at this moment in time.

Zamora and Johnson are where we are at currently.

It would be fantastic for both him and us. I think his big problem is he likes being a big fish in a small pond. There was no one to rival him at Liverpool so he relaxed and played well. At Chelsea he has players like Drogba, Anelka, Sturidge all fighting for his place.

He could come to Sunderland pressure off, the big fish again with a top manager. I am sure he would excel. We could offer Gyan in a swap deal. The 150k a week would be worth it because of how much it would raise our profile.

Back to reality.... It's never going to happen, he will go back to Spain. Remember though Anelka went to Bolton and it resurrected his career.

You've certainly lost something mate, in what way would it be FANTASTIC for Torres? "Here you go pal, you're a bit low on confidence so we're going to sell you for 2/5 of what we paid for you to a team involved in a relegation scrap". Talk about kicking a guy when he's down.

Secondly what would Chelsea want with an overweight money grabber like Gyan when they've already got Frank Lampard?

I see the Mr O'Neill factor has gone to some of your heads, bear in mind the guy has never signed a top class player and managed them, coming from a United fan - even Ashley Young is an over rated flop, when asked to step up his game.

Cestria has it spot on here.

Sorry, but if a guy moves to a club for £50million and STILL doesn't have enough confidence to score more than 3 ****ing goals in almost a year then I'm afraid he's a lost cause.

I would not waste £20mill on the guy or anywhere near, because there's a good chance that it will be a gigantic waste of money. I can't recall any footballer who had so much incredible ability, but then flopped and turned into one of the worst strikers in the league despite being given chance, after chance, after chance. This is a real unique case, so I wouldn't be so hasty to assume that he will suddenly bounce back.

In my honest opinion, I think his confidence is too gone in the Premier League for him to ever to get back to his best ways. He needs a fresh start in a new league and new country.

again, more embarrassing paper talk, no way would chelsea take such a loss after just 1 season, he won't be leaving anytime soon imo, certainly not at that price

It would be fantastic for Torres because the pressure would be off him and he would re-discover his form and then get a move to any club he wanted. Look at what happened with Anelka after his spell at Bolton or Bellemy at Cardiff. Sometimes it does players good to take a step down to get some confidence back.

Anyway as I said its not going to happen, never in a month of Sundays.

How about Tevez to partner him upfront.

Sorry mate, but can't beleive you mentioned Johnson? He's not even getting a game for Fulham? Surely our aspirations need to be higher than the likes of him?

No way would we want Torres - the guy has always been massively overrated and he is basially a poser. I'm not at all suprised that he's struggeling to score for Chelsea. When things aren't going his way he sticks his lip out. Anybody else remember the game at Anfield last season? when we equalised to make it 2-2 he immediately elbowed one of our players (think it was Henderson).

He's **** now, but one thing he's never been is overrated. He bagged 65 goals in 105 apps with 14 assists. I suspect that is still one of the best long-term scoring records the Premier League has ever seen.

Saggy chops at Spurs is showing interest in Tevez, so they should have a surplus of decent forwards.

We were linked right up till 11.59pm with Kranjcar & he hasn't hit the net this season in 6 (4 starts) appearances.
The other said to be unsettled is Pavlyuchenko whoose played 9 (3 starts) for 4 goals

Just looking at the Europa League & if Spurs get a good win tomorrow against Shamrock they yet might still go they way of Fulham <confused>
