Kone sat deeper than Burrell but I think they are forming a real understanding. Playing these 2 will cause teams endless problems
Does it look like a 4-4-1-1 to you Bob? That’s the impression that I got when they were on together against Charlton. When you have pace and aggression it’s still two strikers.
Yes, but I am sure you know, Bob, that when we had possession Kone pushed up. Burrell, Kone and Vale slaughted them down their left and Saito combined almost as well down our left.
A lot of driving but a great day, a great win and some excellent performances. Our fans were in great voice. Now for wine.
To be honest I thought it still looked like 4-2-3-1 as it usually does but more flexible. Varane and the invisible man were holding midfielders with Saito and vale out wide of kone. I've been crying out for 2 strikers since Pep introduced this formation and every team decided this was the only way football can now be played. It's quite bizarre but it will come back around again
Oh yes, I'm not doubting that, it worked for us that's for sure. Vale and Burrell were excellent in the first half. Vale shows, even when losing possession that you've got to fight for it back.
For all the money Wrexham have thrown about this season, there wasn't one of their players I would have taken over our signings this season.
They’ve signed some good players but it’ll take time. Had quite a few injuries today which showed. No way McClean should be starting games in this division any more. Coady was dreadful and if he’s playing they really need to sit deep which then negates Moore. Imagine there’s a bit of pressure on Parkinson already but it’s a tough gig being given the remit to sign players capable of hitting the ground running and gelling quickly while moving on much of a squad who didn’t look that amazing in the league below.
Great to wake to a winning score line. Instant good vibes for the day. Might even do some of the Wife’s chores today. Yes dear….. paint the house? Of course, no problem. Anything else?
Not long home. What a brilliant day. Great team performance. Our fans were so good today. Brilliant support. Things looking much better than a few weeks ago.
A rare bit of praise for a referee. Thought he let some meaty but generally fair challenges go for both sides. Only negative being I had a bet on QPR, lots of corners for both teams and a couple of cards each which would have paid for an expensive day.
They have too many 'names' that are past their peak. Our 'youngsters' ran them ragged, Burrell's afterburners showed that up in a nutshell and a cool finish topped it off. It could have been worse for them but for the woodwork. Reynolds must be realising throwing money at names is no substitute for youthful talent...
