And it looked after Slaters shot there was a definite hand ball from a Swansea player. Thought Slater played well when he came on as did all the subs in particular Belloumi, Ndala and Destan. Disappointed with Hadziahmetovic based upon that display, he is not going to solve our midfield problems, lets hope there is better too come from him
We looked to be containing first half we had two v wide men stopping their attacks on the wings and Mcb and Joe had to cover the middle - is it a tactic to be in the game and turn the screw second half if the oppo are running out of steam ?
Sounds as if we go into games half asleep then gradually wake up...Need to be at it from Minute one, not half way through the first half.
3 tough away games so far this year, cov, swans and Bristol all expecting to be top half, 2 of them will be looking top 6, to get 2 draws out of the 3 isn't bad (not amazing obvs) but I think shows a definite progression from last year. Back that point up with 1 or 3 next week and I'll be v happy with our first 6
What they said Swansea head coach Alan Sheehan: "It's very disappointing, the manner of the equaliser. Seven [added] minutes was a long time to add on but ultimately we only played in patches today. "I will not hide from that. First half was very comfortable. We were comfortable without doing a whole lot. "But we conceded more chances today than we have in the last four games – that's not like us. "Defensively, the longer the game went on we dropped, dropped, dropped. We tried to see out the game but we didn't do that. We take the point and there is loads to improve on." Hull head coach Sergej Jakirovic: "In my opinion we didn't deserve to lose. Especially second had a lot of chances, the goalkeeper made unbelievable saves. "It was very bad for us to concede the second goal on the counter-attack when we could have taken a 2-1 lead. "But we put pressure on the Swansea defence and in the end we got the reward. Our substitutions did a very good job. They took a lot of second balls and put pressure on Swansea." continuing the pointless table, still always good to see a positive points difference please log in to view this image
The only thing from that is the reference to their goalkeeper...In case there is any doubt, that's what goalkeepers do, they make saves. That's why they are well paid....We need to be far more clinical in front of goal and give the keeper little chance. It's no good stating, week in..week out that their keeper had a good game.
I'm encouraged after that game. A bit more composure and we'd have won, too many passes went astray and concentration seemed to drop off now and again. Improve on that and we'll be good to watch and we'll have a good season.
