I'm sick of him, I'm a Labour party member and he is weak as piss. Close to cancelling my membership now.

I have no idea what the answer is, I know for f*cking certain it's not Reform however.

It now appears that there were security concerns around Mandleson being appointed as ambassador in the first place but they went ahead and done it anyway. The Rayner thing doesn't bother me, loads are avoiding tax including that hypocrite Farrage. But Starmer and the candidates for deputy don't give me any confidence whatsoever.

We need a strong leader in government. Someone who will challenge the likes of Farrage as we are walking into an economic disaster.

Still not even close for me, it's like League 2 v Premier League levels of difference when it comes to dodgy deals, mismanagement, self-entitlement and helping their rich mates make literally millions off a pandemic.

Never been a fan of Smarmer, the quisling backstabber that he is. Only in because the opposition being worse. And is not getting better any time soon left or right as far as I can see.

    He needs to resign.

Sir Keir had been dogged with questions over Lord Mandelson's past friendship with Epstein - which has long been public knowledge - since his appointment as UK ambassador in December.

The BBC has been told the friendship - and the fact it continued after the billionaire was convicted - was part of the PM's calculation when he was deciding who to send to Washington.

"The Epstein stuff in broad terms was definitely known and discussed in detail before his appointment," said one source.

    Agreed.

24 hours ago Starmer gave his full confidence in Mandelson. He also advised the House of Commons that he was appointed by due process. MI6 are saying that he did not pass the appropriate vetting process. If this is correct, then Starmer has lied to the house......he needs to resign.

It’s disturbing that we have a PM who after discussing about a bloke who was friends with a man before, during and after he went to jail for trafficking young kids to be abused, then thought that was a man fit to be our ambassador over in the US.

He should resign straightaway over this.

I possibly missed some detail on this yesterday because I was busy. I suspect Starmer appointed Mandelson because of his connection to Trump and the risk of tariffs. In a weird way it probably helped that but that connection seems a pretty grim one. I’ve never been a fan of Mandelson, though some seem to like him so he mst have something.

I was hearing about the new NHS health reforms yesterday in a meeting and I think they make a lot of sense. A definite improvement. It’s a shame because it think the more I see on service changes and policy the more their policy makes sense to me. Then you see the idiotic things like the Palestine action arrests at the weekend. Convict people for damaging planes but don’t waste resources on old ladies with pens. It’s just stupidity. Gesture. Trying to look hard with retired vicars when there are people traffickers to sort out and a shortage of resource.,

It will be very hard indeed to prove that the government, Starmer particularly, ignored security warnings.

That would require a leak from MI5 or MI6, or from his own cabinet office. Neither of these should happen. You just cannot govern if every decision and consideration is made public, no matter what rubbish flies around in the ether, a place I do not I habit.

That said, Starmer looks singularly unsuited to the task, and his judgement is looking more flawed by the day. Not so much with the appointment of Mandelson, though the flags were flying high enough about him. That was bad enough, they should have used his organisational abilities, which are quite something, in a more muted manner if they wanted to use them at all.

But Starmer looks and sounds tin eared on the matters that bother a lot of people, and I see no signs whatsoever of any ability to communicate and connect at the level required

I'd be amazed if he was in that job at the next GE.

I think if Andy Burnham was in the HoC Starmer would already be toast. It's partly the lack of a credible successor that's keeping him safe. Labour MPs will remember the way the Tories cycled through a number of unsuitable PMs and what that did to their electoral chances.

That said mind, it's suprising how well Starmer's personal rating has held up. Obviously the figures below pre-date the Raynor and Mandelson carry-on but we've been hearing for months that he's the most unpopular Prime Minister ever.

Starmer, and Labour have a client base, probably around 20%-25%. This is more or less irreducible, but also very hard to move up from and is why they managed only 33.7% at the GE, in the most propitious circumstances imaginable for an opposition party. This was almost certainly a high water mark and is why they are usually in the low or mid twenties in opinion polls. Burnham will be parachuted in before the next GE, that much is a near certainty, but he is unlikely to move the dial much.

If it is true I think he will have to go as well.

I have no idea if Labour have any capable MPs, let alone leaders anymore. But we as a nation need them to find one or two, otherwise they will be handing the keys to Farage and his lot. That is not my preferred outcome personally, but with each passing scandal and hopeless political choice it seems more and more likely.
