If Tiote ends up not making it then I'd much rather play him than someone like Smith who is completely **** and never going better.

I'd rather see Tiote start personally, but if he can't then yes give him a go.

If Pardew doesn't think Tiote is up for it and thinks Abeid is ready then i'm all for it. Looked very impressive pre-season and in the Carling Cup.

Would love to see Abeid get his first start, providing that Tiote is injured still.

Even if Tiote is fit I'd like him to get some game time, Tiote shouldn't be playing the 90 minutes after being out since October.

I'm always for seeing promising youngsters played over crap "experienced" older players.

Exactly. How else are the young 'uns gonna get their chance. I want Abeid to play.

Abeid all day long if Tiote is still out.

I've read Tiote is touch and go so I'm not holding my breath. After all, Tiote was touch and go for the Stoke match.

Yes the less game time Smyth gets the better. Spelling mistake done on purpose

Hopefully Abeid is ahead of Smith but I wouldn't be surprised if Smith plays if Tiote's out

Either Abeid or Perch as a holding midfielder.

Smith really shouldn't be anywhere near our first team squad.

I'd agree but don't see why you have it in for Perch. Sure, he's not a good player but he gives it his all for the team despite not being good enough.

To be fair to Perch, he hasn't looked bad when playing as a defensive center mid, he's just hopeless as a centre back.
