I don’t anticipate anything in January. If the summer is a difficult market, taking other teams best players in the PL will be an impossibility. We always bemoan value in that window and I suspect the team will be performing well anyway.
With the current rules, this approach is vital to enhancing the headroom for more purchases and long term growth.
Still a big disappointment that we had to sell Anderson and Minteh though. Would've both been excellent players to have this season and going forwards.
We wouldn't have needed Elanga or Ramsey. It is what it is though.... The foundations are in now in all areas.
Taken a while but we now have a squad with a few decent options for each position now plus backup (bar maybe LB), which is what you need for a respectable season in Europe. GK - 4 Pope, Ramsdale, Ruddy Gillespie RB - 4 Tino, Trippier, Krafth, Murphy CB - 6 Thiaw, Schar, Burn, Botman, Krafth, JL LB - 4 Hall, Tino, Trippier, Burn CM - 6 Bruno, Tonali, Willock, Joelinton, Ramsey, Miley WF - 6 Murphy, Gordon, Elanga, Barnes, Willock, Joelinton CF - 4 Wissa, Woltemade, Osula, Gordon
Like that was ever going to happen. And the funny thing is. People on here actually thought we would. Letting a 130 asset rot in the reserves because we are owned by PIF. It was always about getting the highest fee once it started.
Do you honestly think he’d have stayed on strike in a World Cup and champions league? I don’t. I reckon he’ll have sulked for a few weeks then took a few weeks to get up to speed again and eventually buckled down but he’d have been a moody miserable bastard…….. so a bit like he always was.
It's an odd one. This rumour won't go away, but I don't quite get it. He wants away from Man U due to lack of game time, fair enough. But who out of Tonali, Bruno & Joelinton will he displace here? Not to mention we also have Ramsey, Miley & Willock. I do like Mainoo, I think he could be a great little player. I just don't get the timing for him coming to us, as he'd initially be on the bench, which is what he wants to avoid.
Everyone seems to go from dogshit at Man U to playing out of their skin the moment they leave, so it's be happy with this.
I agree. And he’s not going to displace them. I think we have enough strength in depth already. But the rumour won’t go away.
Yeah, but my point is Willock is a sub. Mainoo would be an upgrade, but would he want to warm our bench instead of Manure's? I don't see him starting ahead of our current 3.
