Yeah who knows mate. Just seems a shame hes got us this far and now not committing to the project.
Its a sign of a weak personality though if hes downed tools after signing the likes of Xhaka and Diarra. Not saying it is but after being a guaranteed starter it could be

I think the biggest problem for Dan Neil is how much we have invested in the summer.
However he's not going to be in the starting 11 and there doesn't actually seem to have been the interest in him from the PL clubs we all thought there would be.
He wasn't consistent enough for me last season to convince me he's actually PL ready.
He might get a move in the summer to a PL team that may take a punt on him as he'd be on a free, but I do think his level will be a top championship club.

If you were a Premiership Chairman would you sign him now for cash? I know i wouldn't. He may get a free move next season to a lesser team like Boro, but more fool him for not wanting to fight for us

The contract offer has been on the table for a good while, well before we looked good for promotion. Not sure what’s gone on but as it stands he’ll be away in January. We won’t be losing him on a free…

It's far from my view. It's what I've seen aimed at him!

Oh its only a wrist oh its only concussion whys he still out etc...

Like I said in my post only concussion he was hit what appeared deliberately at full pelt fist first by someone jumping through the air! Must have rattled his brain like a quid in a ****ing biscuit tin, especially when he didn't really see it coming as he only had eyes for scoring! He should have had all the sympathy in the world for that but there were posts of still out for concussion etc...

A few years ago, a work colleague knocked his head on a kids slide at a playground and was diagnosed with concussion 3 months later he returned to work initially for 1 day per week and gradually increased his work time until he was feeling back to normal.

Sure Jamie Vardy played through a broken wrist for most of their title winning season

Concussion protocols are there and usually is to deal with a clash of heads as a guidline, Cirkin had much more than that! Just because it says two week minimum or whatever doesn't mean someone going beyond that is malingering!

There’s breaks and breaks though. Some are pretty irrelevant and you wouldn’t know unless you put real pressure on and others knack until put right. Judging from the need for surgery Cirkins is certainly closer to the latter.

The club dont have that sort of power in this situation. If it gets to Jan and the club havent got it done, he will sign a pre contract with a European side imo. More likely he signs an extension here though and fights for his place this season. If he doesnt break in then he will go next summer on a release clause. Lets see if Speakman can get this sorted or not.

It just seems one thing after another for Cirkin and Alese and personally i wouldnt lose sleep if either left right now.
Im not gonna get in his wrist or concussion argument because there's too many people on here who sympathise too much and im off to bed to watch a movie now so cant be arsed with another Cirkin debate.

All i will say is i have a physical job with alot of lifting and after having surgery on my wrist tendons a few years ago. I returned to work after 11 weeks. Would i have liked more time off?? Course i would. Did i need it? Probably... I stopped getting paid after 12 weeks though so just rolled my sleeves up and got on with it

Maybe he is. He has publicly said he wants to stay and fight. I like the attitude. Ball in cluba court now and it sounds like Speakman is on the case. If the club are as smart as they seem they will protect PSR and find a deal for a year that gets close enough to Dans ask for him to sign and include a sensible sell on for next summer. Otherwise Dan can get bigger and better move on a freebie.

I am not sure what the agents advice here has been. But he is with a major agency (cant remember the name) and they have some elite players so they arent daft either.

Let's hope this is sorted then.

But if he doesn't sign, his stock really does start to fall asl he won't play much. Players get forgotten about, there is always another making waves and getting noticed.

As for his agent. If he is represented by one of these big mobs, he might not be their top priority so to speak, whatever they say to the player.

Agents make money when their players move or sign new deals. They will be looking after their own profit and loss here I am sure. Whilst I dont know the ins and outs of why a deal has not been agreed, clubs are usually criticised for letting players get into the final year of the contract. I hope we dont lose lads for nothing, but Dan and Dennis probably have a market value of £15m plus between them whilst they have 2 years left. Arguably a fair bit less now.

Interestingly it looks like they both have the same agent. Maybe they will do a BOGOF for us <laugh>. Also it looks like Geertruide is with the same agent too. Based on internet searching anyway.

Well well have to see. I wouldn't trust an agent mind. But you can't make a player sign.

Honestly put, I think you could say that they are both rolling the dice.

Equally I had a triple compound open fracture on my forearm just under 2 years ago and have only just felt like my arm is strong enough to get back on my push bike and feel safe. It sounds like his arm needed to be rebroken and reset. I don’t know how bad a version of it but he has a right get his arm working properly. I’m also more generally concerned about him missing games though outside of this one.
