Glad to see a new CEO is sorted. Looks like he has good experience. And I'll give a nod to Darren Eales too. He might not have done all that people were hoping for, but the poor bugger was in place for far longer than he wanted, having announced he was contending with a nasty illness. And yet he still oversaw our most successful period (on the pitch) in decades. Thank you DE. And good luck with your treatment.
Craig Hope is reporting that PIF have learned lessons about the need to be more nimble and move more swiftly. Apparently they currently have a team of approx 30 who are responsible for overseeing NUFC related matters, but who also have other responsibilities within the PIF and are all based in Saudi. The new plan is to replace this setup with a team that is 100% focused on NUFC, with no other competing responsibilities and it is implied that at least some of them will be based locally in Newcastle, to enable smoother, faster communication and decision making.
News just in. Manu have managed to make an offer for NUFC CEO. He’s been put on gardening leave for 6 months. Fee to be agreed.
