We’re saying other day go back a few years and city would keep the ball and be relentless but then had players like Mahrez, David silva, kdb, sane, sterling who when on form could all open up something with bit of magic. They seem to have lost a lot of that these days and although got some good players and the best striker, other than foden and cherki, don’t look at that team and think they can pick a lock as easily. Add in both pros now moving away from solid back 4 to more traditional full back in ait nouri and stones/dias not being as solid as they were, plus an iffy keeper and def a team that can be got at. Take Haaland out that team and reckon it’s about a top 4 rather than title. I’d put ours and Arsenal squad above them
There is now pressures on our manager to take the team to the next level after so many new signing. Slot good luck.
They don't seem to be able keep teams out anymore either. Brighton made 2 subs and suddenly City were sliced open with ease. I know Rodri is nowhere near up to speed yet, but a year out seems to have taken it out of him. ACLs are notorious for taking ages to recover from (even when you can run again) and forcing sports people to change how they perform. He'll probably come good again, but I wouldn't expect it to be until next season and he'll probably need someone along side him to do the running. I don't think they can rely on him being the defensive shield he was. Personally I don't rate Ait Nouri and can't understand why they haven't bought a RB (trying to force Nunes there is stupid (don't rate him either)). Can't say I see Bobb or Trafford as title winning players. Think they might end up in a fight for 4th with Spurs and Newcastle.
Slot's approach towards managing against injuries has been really impressive so far. Meanwhile Arteta decided to play Saliba even though he got injured in the warm up.
I don't think Slot manages injuries at all. I think he plays his preferred XI until they drop and then picks an alternative once forced
Apparently Leverkeusen are considering Glasner after they sacked TinFoil Hat. So much for resigning if Guehi left
"I'm leaving! You tried to sell my best player to Liverpool! Leverkusen would never do that!" Tbf, could be quite tempting for him. Big club with potential, and his relationship with Parish could be strained for a while.
Elliott gone. Loan with 35m buy plus a sell on clause and buy back clause. Hope he does well and gets into that England team for the WC
What about the strained relationship he now has with his club captain? If the leaving video I’ve just watched that was done for Guehi is real, Guehi doesn’t seem the type of person to behave like Isak has done to get his move to is. He comes across as a very decent person.
Ultimately I think Geuhi will benefit from this If his has a good season he will have no shortage of offers by summer Dont really think this changes much Newcastle games have now got spicier and possibly Palace
Guehi may end up on a bench at roma for all we know lol. His chance has been missed so I really hope he sees at least two massive medals he will never win in the pocket of Gomez.come may. However I hope palace have a nice time in europe but their start was undistingushed so I feel like they will be taken apart by an Italian or Spanish side
Why would palace. We've done nowt wrong at all. Same for newcastle if they want to act like.everton on steroids that's on them. They done exactly the same with wissa. Their club should have entered serious negotiations a long time ago.
I don't think he is. I'm more pleased that Gomez didn't get the late move to Milan than I am disappointed about Guehi not joining. I think both Gomez and Konaté are better than him, when fully fit obviously. I've said a couple of times that I don't like Guehi as a player and although he is no doubt a good player, I think he was chosen because of HG status. If we didn't have our eye on that, I think we would have gone for Hincapié or someone similar. That said, I'm not sure how Palace could accept an offer, sanction a medical and pull the player back unless it was already agreed with him that that could happen and he was willing to see how far along it could go without being cancelled. On the face of it, without knowing the details it looks like poor behaviour on Glasner's part. But, it's not our problem now. They will have to sort out a way forward.
How are you trying to blame Guehi here? He did nothing wrong , and Palace were allowing him to leave, hence the leaving videos medical etc Glasner and the Palace Management are ones who reneged on the deal at the last minute.
Im not blaming him. I think he's too nice and should have told glasner and parish exactly what he wanted weeks ago. But when he got thst call he should have told glasner he's a **** for doing that to to him and he can jog on and resign I hope he sees joe gomez with his medals and feels regret. That means we delivered. They've blackmailed him with the good of the club knowing he'd do right by palace so I am hoping he regrets it and we win things.
Whilst your logic is flawless very rarely do football fans view it that way It’s certainly going to be marketed Differently now from the press did you watch the Newcastle game ? We shall see
Football fans are mostly easily swayed. Newcastle will boo isak like mad every time he visits. Same as Southampton did. That's just a fact.
