He may be upset that FARKE didn’t seem to want him and was hunting for left wingers from all over. I bet FARKE didn’t even think to ring him and ask how he was, what he was hoping for and what he wanted if he had to leave Spurs.
I’m not sure how much our recruitment team can be blamed for this. There’s defo a combo between players not wanting to come, lack of sales/budgeting/PSR constraints, not being quick enough & maybe Farke/Underwood not being aligned with targets. The Wilson last minute thing is a Fulham fault as they signed what they needed to on the last day so we wouldn’t have been able to sanction a deal earlier for him however you’ve got to wonder about players like Hamer… Why not just go and get him for 10-15m after the Newcastle game then at least we’ve got someone with a bit of spark after the Buonanotte deal collapsed and play him as an 8, 10 or on the wing. Like not ideal but a potential decent starter/squad player. Worst case you go down & you have a ready made 8/10 in the championship.
Just to change the subject thought I’d mention Bogle. He’s been absolute quality. One of the best RB’s in the PL.
Bit early to slag Fulham off, 2 points from Brighton (a) scum (h) Chelsea (a) Based on our recent past in those fixtures, 2 pts would be very welcome. I see Fulham have a very winnable home game soon as well
It was pisspoorplanning simple as that. They had months to plan for both options so promotion should mean a list of players the manager wants gone and a list of targets for positions the manager wants upgrades in. It would see that when it came to forwards there was no prep work in speaking to players agents to see if they fancy Yorkshire. If vibes were good put a presentation together and first draft of a proposal. Then when the window opens make contact with the players clubs to talk fees. Remember all the players we were chasing were in the last year of their contracts, so easy to get on with. It would seem to me there was no pre planning on forwards whatsoever and why we ended up at the death with Buendia, Hamer and Wilson. Obviously none of these were initially on our list. what made expectation levels rise was the £35m for Piaxcoa and £40m for Muniz, and we know we bid £35m for Bakwa but left it way too late. A huge big nothing burger
Kalv is sitting in mcdonald's bored, paddy's at home sobbing into his no 9 shirt. Coops knees are holding up ok. Pontus is ready to headbutt a few PL strikers. I'm sure if we knocked a few doors we'd could get a magnificent 7 type gig going. We could help out the mexican villagers in the recruitment team at elland road face the bandits from Fulham
Maybe we should start a 49ers enterprises sack race thread. Will Underwood take the blame, will the “brilliant 49ers who know what they’re doing” blame someone Internally or will Marathe the mouth step down accepting it was him
Massive gamble keeping the front line fit and firing mate. Even then theres a gamble on the quality. The 49rs haven't helped themselves
