My lad sent me this picture of his stepson scoring the winning penalty in a cup semifinal yesterday. The utter joy on his face reminded me of how as kids we all loved this game. Pity as adults the joy gets watered down and we all get weighed down by all the crap that surrounds the beautiful game these days. The simple joy of playing this game with your mate is something I sat and thought about as I looked at this photo. Go on joey show us all how it’s done lad…… God I love this game !!!
I have a joyous one too - my g'daughter was mascot at the Blackburn game, this is her after being the only one to kick the ball from the area into the corner quadrant, let's hope these kids can keep that same joy!
