No. Him and Edozie are still here. A few windows are open across the continent though, so it's not over yet.
Edozie I imagine we will still be looking to shift even if on loan. If all we can do is loan out Aribo at this stage, we will be better off keeping him and re-integrating him for depth in midfield.
I was being sarcastic, just didn’t use the blue ink. We had a ****e squad last season. Arguably better now albeit haven’t seen many of the new signings play yet.
Very obvious to me; of all the deadwood & let’s call them fringe squad players, we’ve hardly been able to recover any revenue. And these were players that we were using in the PL. Appalling really.
Unlike the last season in the championship, we only have 2 players currently on loan. Long will be released at end of the season, and we have a £7 million option on Jelert. So unlike last time, we don’t have 2 players going to cost us £40 million if we get promoted, but also leaves a chance to use the market for a couple of loan players in January if needed, especially when there will be players who would have had minimal minutes at their clubs.
Think it shows how unbalanced and poor the squad was last season, when we’ve had to loan players out who are in the last year of their contracts, so happy just receive a loan fee and get wages of the books. To be fair,if we get promoted this season it will all be worth it, as many players of the books and we won’t be dishing out new contracts to a load of mediocre players because we got promoted
Are we planning to push them out of the open windows? The Defenestration of Prague comes to mind, for any history scholars. Or those of us old enough to see it first hand
I wonder how much clout there is to force them to move to Goztepe before the deadline, even on loan, if they don't go elsewhere? Could cover wages at least and as it's clear they won't play/aren't in plans here - in the absence of anything else, might make sense? A good season for a (surprisingly) good team in the Turking Superleague could mean we have a better shot at selling them in January/next summer and would raise their profile too. (hoping we can still properly shift them to Belgian/Dutch/Turkish side but if all else fails...)
I don't know if any of you follow the transfer news, but apparently Alexander Isak has signed for Liverpool. My telly is on the blink so I'm not sure if Sky have mentioned it, but you'd have thought someone somewhere would have made some noise about it.
There's always a few of these transfers that slip under the radar. A shame that they don't mention it because I'd love to know what Clinton Morrison, Lee Hendrie and Dermot Gallagher feel about why Liverpool have had such a good transfer window and what this now means in terms of player power. I guess we'll never know.
I hadn't thought of that but it's a good idea. They will be competing for Europe in the super lig so are clearly at a decent level and they sold Romelu for about £18m so should be able to cover most of the wages.
